Godmother is dying

I posted a couple of months ago when she was told she was terminal. I think now she's slipping away. It's painful.

She doesn't want visitors. I've said goodbye. But she's not very sentimental. I almost sent her some saccharine poem a few days ago to tell her how much she meant to me, she'd have laughed. Now it's too late for jokes. She mostly sedated I think. Lots of pain when conscious.

I’m so sorry, I hope both my god daughters think of fondly as me, as you do about your god mother. I certainly love mine. Great young women.

Thank you. I just wish I'd said something more profound to her last time I saw her. Wish I'd come up with the right words.

I'm very sorry. All you can hope for now is that she passes away as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Saying good bye to my grandmother was one of the most painful things I had to do in my life. Sending you love and strength.

Bless you I felt exactly the same when my DGM was dying in October.
I hope your God Mother has a peaceful end. I'm sure she knows how much you love her.

There will never be sufficient time to say adequate words. If you need to be there, and can, and want to, go. If you can't, have your moment. Be still and with her and tell her you love her and let her go. My mum couldn't leave till I told her she could. Just let her go. It's shit. And if you aren't as woo as me you'll think I'm chatting shit. But be gentle to yourself so when she goes you are ready ish)

Thanks all. She doesn't want visitors now other than close family. She is suffering, I hope it's already over. I'm waiting for the call.
