Supermarket Tannoy Announcement...

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 03/12/2018 18:03

This morning when in Asda (for the first time out of four today Angry) there was a tannoy announcement asking for Kirstie Allsop to go to the General Office.

I don’t know if we have an actual staff member called Kirstie Allsop or if this is a tannoy code. I’m assuming code but no clue at all what it means!!! Craft emergency???

Could just be a staff members name. Tom Jones used to manage the beers, wines & spirits aisle at the Sainsbury's I worked at.

FingerLickingGod · 03/12/2018 19:00

Probably just a staff members name. Confused

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/12/2018 19:04

Don’t know but our Sainsbury’s often call for Katie Perry to go somewhere or other.

Knittedfairies · 03/12/2018 19:09

Justine Greening was called to the Customer Service desk at Morrison’s last week.

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2018 19:10

Clean up in the Home Made Crap aisle?

KittensAndChristmasCake · 03/12/2018 19:10

Craft emergency???
😂

Kikithewitch · 03/12/2018 19:10

We have an actual Barry White working at our local Tesco. Always make me smile when I hear it on the tannoy

To be fair though any ex-cabinet ministers could actually be working in Morrison’s now, so....

PositivelyPERF · 03/12/2018 19:14

We have an actual Barry White

I just wouldn’t be allowed near the intercom system because I’d end up doing it in a deep sexy voice. realistically sounding like a croaking frog Grin

StealingYourWiFi · 03/12/2018 19:17

We used to have to call 'Mrs Robinson' when I worked in a supermarket and a card flashed up as stolen or missing.

Did laugh in Primark once when the tannoy said 'Can Claire go to the customer service desk please? Thats Fat Claire' Grin

festivedramallama · 03/12/2018 19:21

We used to make them up at the Sainsbury’s I worked at for the customer service to read out the Favourites were Min Gheeta (childish😂) and Paul Mycock

Twisique · 03/12/2018 19:21

Its their code!

DollyWilde · 03/12/2018 19:25

@sitranced Tom Jones was the examiner when I passed my driving test...

In my nervousness I asked him if people sang Delilah at him much. He sighed resignedly and said ‘It’s not unusual’ Blush

Amazed he passed me after that!

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 03/12/2018 19:28

‘It’s not unusual’ Grin oh dear!

StealthPolarBear · 03/12/2018 19:30

Love it :)

Our detection equipment used to be serviced by Tony Blair.

tapdancingmum · 03/12/2018 22:24

My DD goes to school with a Tom Jones and Alex Ferguson so safe to say these are names that could be called out over tannoys in the future!!

chemenger · 03/12/2018 22:26

I went to school with a Gary Cooper, who never shot anyone at high noon and a Peter Cook who did not have a friend called Dudley Moore. I’ve also taught a Joan Crawford, who was not feuding with Bette Davis.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 03/12/2018 22:28

Gordon Bennett manages the shopping precinct in a town I used to go to occasionally Grin

BarbaraofSevillle · 03/12/2018 22:28

Our Morrisons used to have a Mr Gotobed who was frequently tannoyed.

I know it is a real name and to my shame I found it amusing, poor man.

BarbaraofSevillle · 03/12/2018 22:30

I know of another Gordon Bennett Frazzy and I had an ex work client called Gary Barlow.

AdaColeman · 03/12/2018 22:33

Miss Nightingale is often used for a first aider.

HildaZelda · 03/12/2018 22:37

I ALSO worked with a Gordon Bennett @Frazzy & @Barbara.
That man gets around! Confused
