How often do you wash your hair.

My hair is long ( to the middle of my back) . It doesn't go greasy. So I wash mine once a week. As it's a pain to dry and straighten, and takes ages. I have come across several of my friends who also wash theirs once a week. I've heard it's good to leave it if you can. But wouldn't go longer than a week. No judgment if you do go longer than a week, it's up to you.

I'm just interested how often others wash their hair.

Every 2nd day. I dry shampoo on the days I don’t wash it.
I have mid length, very straight hair and don’t hair dry my hair most times I wash it. I just literally wash and go. It just dries straight naturally.

TheGhostOfYou · 03/12/2018 11:41

Sometimes every other day, sometimes once a week. It depends.

SylviaAndSidney · 03/12/2018 11:54

Every 2-3 days. I have a mass of curls that would go flat and awful if I didn’t. I use shampoo once every 7-8 days and only use conditioner the other times I wash it.

@Apple my teenage daughter's hair is waist length and she washes it every other day or a dry shampoo spray something. She leaves hers to dry too and it's always straight and beautifully flowing.

When it needs it. Sometimes every day. Sometimes every other day and sometimes once a week. Depends if I'm working and if I've been working on hot counter and need to wear my hat.

ernjas · 03/12/2018 12:22

Every other day usually. Sometimes on the 3rd day but it's usually quite greasy by then! I also have long hair and find it so annoying - mine was down to my bum but got it cut to my waist a few months ago and it's still annoying me, debating whether to cut it all off now!

formerbabe · 03/12/2018 12:38

Twice a week. It is very thick and takes age to wash, dry and style. I hate doing it.

Bigonesmallone3 · 03/12/2018 12:40

Twice a week, long thick hair here.. don't have the time for any more!

Atetoomanymincepies · 03/12/2018 12:40

Everyday as it is greasy but I don't wash it if I am not leaving the house. I hate it, tried everything but nothing works

Skyejuly · 03/12/2018 12:41

Every 2 days...Ish

CrabbityRabbit · 03/12/2018 12:42

Everyday if I've been to the gym. If not, every third day or so.

SharkSave · 03/12/2018 12:43

Everyday. I'm a greasy bugger

Dowser · 03/12/2018 12:54

When I was much younger it was every other day. Now itseasily 5-7 days
Funnily enough..it’s when it seems too dry rather than greasy
It’s below my shoulders

That’s about the right amount of time.wash it too much and my head itches even with something like faith in nature

Ollivander84 · 03/12/2018 12:59

Every 3-5 days, conditioner only, no shampoo

HannaSong · 03/12/2018 13:03

Everyday. It's very greasy otherwise. I'm also allergic to dry shampoo :(

amusedbush · 03/12/2018 13:14

Wednesday and Sunday. I use dry shampoo in between and my hair goes up into a pineapple on the third day as it doesn't look nice down. I used to wash it more frequently and it felt like shit because I put so much heat on it.

(It's REALLY curly naturally but I prefer to wear it straight, hence the heat. Leaving it is not an option!)

DelurkingAJ · 03/12/2018 13:18

Every day. Short, very fine hair that looks matte after 36 hours. I also have a toddler and his often mildly dirty hands frequently touch my hair. But it takes 2 minute to wash and I don’t blow dry it (my hairdressers over the years have told me that it’s this that causes the damage associated with frequent washing...don’t know if that’s true).

JellieEllie · 03/12/2018 13:21

Once a week. It's long and almost touches the top of my bum now. I wear it down for the first two days and then tied back the rest of the week.
My hair was badly damaged due to hair dye abuse a few years ago so I had to have it all cut extremely short. It made me want to look after my hair. I never straighten it or blow dry it now, when I colour it I only touch up the roots and luckily it's now very healthy and smooth without the use of heat.

HippoLatte · 03/12/2018 13:24

Usually twice a week, sometimes just once depending how lazy I am. Sometimes 3 times if I have a lot of social things on that week. Mine is long and thick and doesn't need washed every day. It's also a pain in the arse to dry and straighten/curl.

Sitranced · 03/12/2018 14:38

Every 2-3 days whenever I shower. My hair doesn't take long to dry or require any styling or maintenance when it get washed.
