Do you remember your first crush?

I do. I was 11, and I fancied him for two years or so Blush. A lot of girls had a crush on him, but I was painfully shy and my so called friends said he would never notice me in a million years.

I didn't get a boyfriend until I was 17, but I'll never forget the first boy I fancied. He grew up to be a bit of an average joe so I'd probably have a shot with him now if I was single!

Does Morten Harket count?

(I still love him. Nordic genes: he still looks fab).

nomester · 02/12/2018 23:01

Does it have to be on real life?
Cos I only noticed boys in my area when I was about 16... I dated him for 2 years... the crush wore off 🙈
My first real crush was when I was 10, the F1 driver Jenson Button 😍😍😍

PepperSteaks · 02/12/2018 23:03

Yes and I saw him at soft play today. He was still as gorgeous as ever.

FuckKnuckle · 02/12/2018 23:09

God, yes. All the way through secondary school. I'd wait outside the dinner hall for him and ask him the time, try to stand near him in the dinner queue so he'd elbow me while he was mucking about with his mates...

The nice thing is, he knew, and he was never anything but kind to me all that time. Bless his heart, I wonder where he is now?

Longdistance · 02/12/2018 23:13

Yes. I had a crush at the same age (11). He is now a complete dick 🤷🏼‍♀️

He made a comment on social media, and I thought ‘phew, what a lucky escape’. It wasn’t just one, he continued to be an arse, so I deleted him.

Adam Ant!

BarryTheKestrel · 02/12/2018 23:37

Yes. My mum's best friend's son. He was 3 years older than me but I had a crush on him from about 10 years old. 20 years on and he's still one of the most genuinely nice guys I know. The crush wore off around age 15 though.

treaclesoda · 02/12/2018 23:40

Yes, I was about 11. We're in our 40s now and he's still really good looking. He liked me too. We made each other laugh. Smile

Namechange170518 · 02/12/2018 23:42

Jason Donovan. I still would.

todayiwin · 02/12/2018 23:51

Yes it was a girl. I am a now 43 and 100% not a lesbian.

HearMeSnore · 02/12/2018 23:52

I actually had a crush at the age of 5! A lad in the other class at school. That lasted right up until top juniors. I lost interest in senior school when I got distracted by all the 6th-form boys.

After graduating from university and returning home I ran into him again. Snogged him once after a boozy night out. Didn't do much for me. He was a really nice fella though, and I'll always remember that he was my first crush even if I never see him again.

haveipossiblygonedappy · 02/12/2018 23:57

A female doctor on casualty (Lara for anyone who remembers, must have been about 15 years ago) - I fancied her rotten.

In rl my English teacher at around the same time ... absolutely adored her . To the point I cringe when I look back on it .

Funnily enough I didn’t realise I was a lesbian until this summer !!

moredoll · 02/12/2018 23:59

Yes. I think of him whenever I meet someone with blue blue eyes.

MrsTommyBanks · 03/12/2018 00:21

Yep. I was 11. He kissed (Just a peck on the lips) me at the bus stop after the Christmas school disco to raise money for the Blue Peter appeal.
His lips were so soft. I can still remember how my heart seemed to sing.
No idea where he is now. But he was a bit of a bad boy, so quite possibly up to no good.

HildaZelda · 03/12/2018 00:28

Yes, a boy in my class called David. I was 6.

VenusClapTrap · 03/12/2018 07:46

Morten Harket. That crush is still going strong!

First real life one was a friend of a friend I met at a gig when I was sixteen. I was introduced to him and it was like being hit in the stomach with a sledge hammer - I think I just stood there open mouthed. Time stood still. I had a crush on him for years, and used to badger my friend to find out which gigs he might be at. He never noticed me because all the girls swooned, and I was an awkward, spotty teen.

Over a decade later, I unexpectedly ran into him at a wedding. By then I was confident and glamorous, whilst he had stagnated a bit. He didn’t remember me at all; but I thought what the hell and dated him for two years, before realising that he completely traded on his good looks and was actually a bit of a cocklodger, so I moved on.

fussychica · 03/12/2018 09:57

Yes at 11, the first day of secondary and it went all the way through to the end.

I was obsessed but he was more into sport than girls but finally seem to notice them at around 15. Unfortunately for me he seemed to fancy my best friendShock

Have never seen him since leaving school so no idea what he looks like now but do wonder occasionally . As that was nearly 45 years ago probably not that goodGrin

OutPinked · 03/12/2018 10:27

Stephen Gately Grin. Then it was Gareth Gates further down the line. I also liked an older boy at school called Bradley. I think I was in reception! I started young...
