Argh elf on a shelf!!

Elf arrived today by knocking at the door. Children found him & book on door step.

Fast forward to this evening 7yr old found box that he came in lying in my bedroom.

Floods of tears resulting from the fact she now think we bought him..
how do I rectify this??

It’s his magic restorer in case anyone touches him.

It’s his disguise. My dd (5) asked why her’s has a tag on like the ones in the shops and I explained it’s his disguise and she accepted that. Good luck!
