Harry Potter birthday cake

Has anyone seen one for sale anywhere? I usually bake birthday cakes myself (albeit badly) but I'm unwell this year and just won't be able to. My DD understands and has picked a narwhal cake from Sainsbury's as a backup but she really wanted a Harry Potter party at home which I can't give her and she's now sharing a party with her sister before my next op. I won't even be at home.for her birthday. I'd love for her to have a cake she really wanted.

I've found a few toppers online but I'm not enamoured with them and collecting from a cake maker/ price is an issue as we've had to rent a village hall and pay for an entertainer as I'm not well enough to do it.

I can't see any on mysupermarket. Could you buy a plain one from the supermarket and use the toppers?

Cold you get a plain iced cake and add a topper like this

Could you get a plain white cake and ice something like this on?

Ooh I like the Etsy one thankyou, or the glasses. I could probably make the decoration for that one from my sofa Wink if I bought a plain cake

@mumgonecrazy I love that last one but with two birthdays before Christmas and the party to pay for we just can't afford it. I did wonder whether to ask my SIL to make some toppers for me as she's amazing (obv I'd pay her) but she doesn't do it as a business so it might make me a CF

this would be very easy to recreate!

MerryGinmas · 02/12/2018 21:27

I'm sorted. Thanks for your help ladies.

I was just about to say - there’s some shops on EBay where you email them an image and they post it back printed as a cake topper which you can then put on a plain iced cake. This is what I did (it was a picture of a Harry Potter book)
However OP I see you are sorted now!

I made one for dd one year that was a golden snitch made from a Ferraro Rocher - you cut out some wings and glue it on.

ILoveDolly · 02/12/2018 21:36

I like these ideas, very cute. Might steal some for my dd s cake... hope all goes well for op, OP

MerryGinmas · 02/12/2018 21:53

Ooh I might add a snitch to it. SIL offered to make the cake and we've used the inspo^ to put together a plan 👍👍 thanks for all your help
