Christmas Eve I host brunch - lots of pastries, fruits, yoghurts, mince pies and bucks fizz
Then it’s homemade pizza for tea, I usually attempt to cut into festive shapes, they always look shit but it’s tradition now Grin

Boxing Day breakfast is always a fry up
Then in the evening we go to my Mums and have Indian tapas

BumDisease · 02/12/2018 19:45

Christmas Eve, friends and I always go to an Indian restaurant for dinner. Don't know how this came about but we've been doing it for years and it's kind of a tradition!

Christmas Day will be whatever my mum feeds me!

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/12/2018 19:48

Christmas Eve is bacon butties for brunch, an early dinner of steak and dauphinois and then party food after church.

Boxing Day is toasted leftover panettone and fruit for breakfast, pate or cheese and crackers for lunch with Christmas dinner pie for dinner.

bebesequin · 02/12/2018 20:02

Christmas eve I am working
So usually it is some thing really easy like homemade pizzas.
Usually a Christmassy film and some nibbles with Champagne - great fun now the DCs are all old enough to drink....but all home and the Christmas movie must be watched.
Boxing day this year we are having venison , veg and roasties - my DHs roasties are sublime.
The desserts from Christmas day will be finished off.

PoptartPoptart · 02/12/2018 20:08

Christmas Eve is a takeaway. Seeing as I’m cooking a full Christmas dinner the following day I think I deserve a night off beforehand!

YerAuntFanny · 02/12/2018 20:13

Juanbablo · 02/12/2018 20:14

We have whatever we fancy on Christmas eve. We've had pie, we've had chinese. We might make our own pizzas this year.

Boxing day is going to be cold meats, cheeses, crackers, bread, salad, mince pies, nuts and fruit. We are having family over but it's an open invitation for a few hours so people can drop in anytime so it will be a cold buffet that I can replenish easily.

OliviaStabler · 02/12/2018 20:16

Christmas Eve I usually have some form of salmon mousse with crusty bread and salad.

Boxing Day is the same Christmas dinner but with Beef instead.

Charlieandlola · 02/12/2018 20:19

Baked salmon on Xmas Eve

Boxing Day - turkey and chips

BalancingStick · 02/12/2018 20:23

Boxing Day

jmh740 · 02/12/2018 20:24

Dontbestupidagain · 02/12/2018 20:43

Christmas eve - slow roast brisket in baps with gravy
Boxing - leftovers of course

Sunhill4 · 02/12/2018 21:06

Am actually considering takeaway Xmas Eve as will be working til 6.30pm

BitchQueen90 · 02/12/2018 21:09

Takeaway Christmas eve.

Christmas day - Turkey and trimmings

Boxing day - gammon with something like bubble and squeak.

SpaceCadet4000 · 02/12/2018 21:15

Christmas eve- pheasant, my Dad and I always cook it together. Weird tradition is that we eat it by candlelight because one year there was a storm on Christmas eve and the power went out.

Boxing day- usually a buffet, but I think we'll be out for lunch this year instead.

BrickByBrick · 02/12/2018 21:43

Christmas Eve - McDonalds - an unfortunate 'tradition' that started many years ago and my children will never forget about.

Boxing Day - Nothing, well not nothing, just nothing special. Just normal Wednesday food.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 02/12/2018 22:58

xmas eve probably at the pub early doors but will have a few buffet tapas style stuff in fridge for after or to save for later in the week, xmas day ... a full on food fest starting with the smoked salmon, scrambled egg, croissant / eggs benedict, chicken dinner with all the trimmings cos we don't like turkey, two of the four of us don't eat meat so they have monkfish tails in cream sauce, then boxing day the in laws come so I do a whole dinner allover again, probably beef wellington and salmon en croute this year. rest of the hols we hoover up the leftovers and I chill by doing stuff like baked camembert and nice bread rather than full on dinners. Oh.. plenty of fancy gin helps, 'let the fun be... Gin'

MissCheevious · 02/12/2018 23:06

Christmas eve supper is something and homemade chips - might be steak and bits or just simple egg. But with bread and butter.

Boxing day dinner is curried turkey with all the poppadom naan type trimmings and chutneys etc- the girls aged 8 and 13 insist. (I'd rather have cold cuts, mash and pickles from my childhood)

IncomingCannonFire · 02/12/2018 23:14

Christmas eve will be salmon wellington.
Boxing day is leftover cold meats, with pickles, part bake bread, cheese, salad - a kind of ploughmans lunch buffet.
