Teenage son being EXTREMELY picky with food

My son’s eating habits make me so very stressed that I cry, sometimes loose control... it make me feel I failed as a mother and that is the only thing I thought I was doing. He likes 1 food less every day!! Baked beans in food? Noap, he doesn’t like it... potatoes - no., broccoli- no... today he refused to eat my very delicious lentil soup... but I taught him all my life, what’s healthy and what’s not! He should know it by now he’s 13... he picks for greens .., asks what I have put in the food... I always have my fridge full for him but he is so very picky... it is affecting my health seriously! Had I not taught him all of his life I wouldn’t get so stressed out ... but I did teach him to try new things. I am thinking to see a doctor for advice.. how can I give him meat every day !! And tomato sauce is too tomatoey... he wants stir fry without soy sauce... I would take cooking classes just to give him what he wants but tbh he only wants plainly cooked meat 😭😭... he does eat greek salad but that’s all! No other salads.

Um, you need to relax. Seriously. He's old enough to cook for himself if he doesn't want what you provide and an awful lot of teens survive on junk for a few years and eventually eat decently again.

One of mine pretty much lived on cereal and pot noodles//super noodles for a few years, with almost no fruit or veg passing his grumpy teeage lips. He's quite a good cook these days and eats very well. He was a great eater of all things healthy until about 12.

Ithink you need to take a step back.. don't fill your fridge with stuff you are going to feel stressed about it, provide healthy basics and food that he will eat. There are probably more battles to come in the next few years and you need to pick them carefully! (Had 4 teens at once, trust me on this Grin )
