Was thinking about some things my parents, mid-70s, have said all my life but I don’t really hear other people saying them (so if I do it instantly reminds me of them).
My dad: keep your eyes peeled (if we are looking for something) and I won’t need rocking tonight (ie I’m tired so will be straight to sleep).
My mum: she/he was knee high to a duck (meaning small) and won’t say boo to a goose (meaning they are timid).
