Anyone awake?

Ive had a night out planned for months for a works do and DP got called for a night shift so his sister has both DCs for the entire night. Not only that but my DP is gone until 7 am today! He snores, very' very loud when he is on his back so I'm constantly rolling him onto his side through the night. Our 3 year old regularly climbs into our bed and keeps me awake. Shes a snorer just iike her dad. The 6 year old wakes about 6.30 ish and wants breakfast so I wake up then.

As my night out was planned well in advance and believe me, I've been counting down the days, the excitement has been unreal. Everyone who knows me knows about the night out because i haven't been out in so long and I talked about it for ages even had a countdown calender Grin. Yesterday day time DP got called for a night shift (optional but could do with the money at this time of year). DP obviously knows about my night out because ive been talking about it for a year and he agrees to the night shift but arranged childcare for the entire night plus he will be away until 7 am.

Im fucking delighted. I acted as normal to DP so he wouldn't get suspicious of my plans. But I put fresh bedding on when hw left and told my work colleagues I'll be leaving early just so that I can go home and spread out in my bed and I'll even get a lie in.Grin.

Honestly I've been daydreaming of this moment since i found out ill be all alone. I left the work do early and came home got a glass of wine and snacks and fell asleep around 11ish with the bedroom TV on with my favourite Netflix show that DP can't stand (Brooklyn 99)Grin.

I woke up around 12ish and I've not been able to get back to sleep. Nothing feels right there's no one here uts so quiet. And I must have had a bit too much to drink because Im slowly getting a hangover ad time goes by. What I've been looking forward to has just turned to shite. I could have stayed out and justified been awake at this time and feeling like shit, but instead I'm just laid on mumsnet I've read all the active threads and there's nothing left to do. Ill probably fall asleep about 15 minutes before DP arrives home and promptly starts snoring; and the whole cycle will start again.

Anyway why are you awake what are you up to? If anyone is awake of course!

I started typing my message at about 5. I rambled so much ive posted it at this time which is an average time of day for some people to be awake so my question is a bit shit really.

Anyway, if you want to jump on this thread I'm up and drinking tea. And put a wash on. Going to wash the pots and then potter as DP is back an hour early and will want to sleep and i cant. Ill ask on this thread instead of the original question. What are you up to?

Big wave hello!
Not been to bed yet. Just finished watching the boxing with DP. Will give the dog her breakfast in a minute and then go to bed. Not at all tired but there’s no way I can pull an all-nighter when I have to be up early for work on Monday!

Zoflorabore · 02/12/2018 06:19

Hello op, firstly, take some painkillers!

I'm up for the second time. I have chronic insomnia. I went to bed at 9pm as was up yesterday at 3.20am, fell asleep quickly but woke up just after 1. Pottered about for a bit, came on here and had some pop tarts Blush and got on the sofa around 3.30 and slept until 5.30.
This is normal for me but I hate it.

I’m up because my dd is sick. I have barely slept because I’ve been waiting for her to start being sick as we are the house of puke this week and she was next on the hit list. Oh well- at least it’s here now. 😷

Wanttomakemincepies · 02/12/2018 06:22

Been up since 4AM. 39 weeks pregnant and needed the loo and couldn't get back to sleep. DH is a teeth grinder which makes me want to smother him which added to the disturbance.

Bunnymumma · 02/12/2018 06:32

I've been up for an hour. I've got a jiggly bub in my tum that likes to wake me up nice and early. DH is gleefully snoring away, as is our dog!

ShowerTheHorse · 02/12/2018 06:38

Zoflorabore painkillers have been taken, just noticed all the typos in my OP too Blush.

DP is back and in bed next to me, glad I'm up so I won't have to hear the snoring. Just counting down the hours until my little cherubs come home.

Sympathys to those with insmonia. I suffered with it in my second pregnancy and I hated it.

I woke up at 5 after a very satisfying dream in which I threw a bucket of dirty water over someone who had wronged me. Couldn't go back to sleep. DH is also a snorer and it seems to be getting worse, month by month Sad

I'm hoping the dc will have a lie in because they are both knackered, but they are 8 and 4 so the chances are slim. But for now I'm up enjoying the peace and quiet, drinking tea and doing the ocado shopping!

Storm4star · 02/12/2018 06:46

Awww i’m Sorry your plans got ruined! Re the snoring, has he been to his GP? My ex was a chronic snorer and he had a simple op that stopped it completely, it was life changing. I often wake up early and I make a coffee and take it back to bed with me. Will probably lie back down soon and see if I can get a couple more hours. I quite like this time when everything is peaceful.

Mumtoboy123 · 02/12/2018 06:53

Been awake watching friends on netflix amd scrolling mumsnet while feeding 8 week old. Nice change this morning because the xmas decs are up!

Kissel · 02/12/2018 06:57

I’ve been up a couple of hours. Went out for the first time since having my baby last night. Now catching up with Strictly while she sleeps on my chest.
Like you OP I’m feeling more hungover as time goes on!

beela · 02/12/2018 07:03

Woohoo, past 7am! This counts as a lie in from both dc! Though I can hear someone moving about upstairs...

stabbybitch · 02/12/2018 07:13

Iv been awake since 4.45, went to bed at 10.30 last night but was woken twice by tinnitus. Iv always had bad nightmares but they've been worse since the tinnitus, only one last night though woohoo!

DSS just came up for the loo otherwise everyone is still sleeping which is a miracle in this house.
