Breathlessness

BrazzleDazzleDay · 01/12/2018 23:30

6 weeks ago I had pneumonia/partial collapse of my right lung. The first couple of weeks after hospitalisation I was obviously breathless doing certain things. All got better in time.

Until today, woke up and came downstairs pretty much panting. Been ok during the day except from going up/down/up and bloody down again fetching/doing stuff for the dc. Had left shoulder pain earlier which reminded me very lightly of the referred pain of my right partial collapse.

Right now, im sat on the sofa, dc went to bed at least 3 hours ago,(so no stress) but my breathing feels fast like I've been rushing, I'm fairly breathless but I'm totally chilled out.

B.p is 87/53 pulse 126. Temps usually fairly low anyway but is 36.7 , I feel ok otherwise.

I'm up to my eyeballs in uni work, dh thinks I need to see the dr and take more time off. I don't know what I think..

I think you ought to see someone sooner rather than later. It will put our mind at rest if nothing else. Flowers

autumnboys · 01/12/2018 23:37

Just read that again - should obviously say your mind, not our mind.....although in fairness, I would quite like to hear that you’re going to get checked over. Smile

UbiquitousDust · 01/12/2018 23:38

Call 111 please.

We are not medical staff with your full details. 111 would be much better to advice.

Advise

cheesywotnots · 01/12/2018 23:42

Call for medical advice, 111 can help you, hope you feel better soon,

CherryPavlova · 01/12/2018 23:47

Those parameters without a full set of observations gives you an early warning score of 4 minimum. Get medical advise.

Tartpop · 01/12/2018 23:49

The more you panic the worse it will all get. Please call 111

northender · 01/12/2018 23:50

I work in respiratory care & I definitely think you need to get checked out.

BrazzleDazzleDay · 01/12/2018 23:56

autumnboys it's my 11.50 check in, I'm alive Grin

Ok , ok I thought dh was being a drama llama. (Though I thought I was ok last time til my lung started going).

Sensible to seek advice, thats why I'm asking here, I thought silly but maybe not

For god's sake get seen. Your heart rate is significantly high for an adult without a fever. That is a serious warning sign of significant illness. You must get seen tonight.

SherlockHolmes · 02/12/2018 00:11

My DS has recently had a collapsed lung and was told that if he became breathless to immediately go back to A&E. So I would go to be on the safe side.

BrazzleDazzleDay · 02/12/2018 00:23

nocoolnamesleft I had no idea about pulse rate except i don't feel particularly feel unwell much higher than that.

phoned 111, have an ambulance coming. Seems so silly when im ok.

Hospital is arse end of nowhere which has little signal.

OP posts:
PurpleWithRed · 02/12/2018 00:37

glad you have an ambulance coming. Assuming you are breathing a bit fast as well as high pulse and low bp - definitely Ambulance worthy.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 02/12/2018 09:43

Hi Brazzle. Thanks for seeking advice. How are you feeling today?

TroyKing · 02/12/2018 09:53

I'm probably a fair bit older than you but when after I was hospitalised with pneumonia it took well over a year for me to regain my fitness.

TroyKing · 02/12/2018 09:53

Hope you're ok

Bobbiepin · 02/12/2018 10:22

Ambulance is definitely the right call with a bp that low and hr that high. Hope you're ok OP.
