All I see is pictures of people showing off their Christmas trees all nicely decorated and their living rooms decorated.....
I feel like saying ... Who gives a Shi** .

My tree and house has been decorated for ages now and I can't wait until Xmas but I cant stand bragbook ...

I find myself over the years posting less and less and I look at everyone else and think...ughhhh .

I long for days before the internet was like this

It sounds really obvious and twee but, come off it then? A lot of studies have shown that some people are genuinely happier without it.

If that's it possible, unfollow the people who brag and make you unhappy. They'll never know.

PickleSarnie · 01/12/2018 23:05

I can't imagine having a bloody tree in my living room for an entire month! It's only the 1st of December.

And I love Christmas. But 1st of December or earlier? shudder

Newsername · 01/12/2018 23:07

I deactivated Facebook back in June and haven’t missed it at all. The only thing I’m gutted about is all my photos, but I know they’re safe and I’m thinking of logging back in one day in the future and retrieving them all and then deleting the whole account. It’s a shit place.

I like seeing them.

greendale17 · 01/12/2018 23:10

I like seeing them too. Why are you even on Facebook if you get so wound up?

NancyDonahue · 01/12/2018 23:11

Leave facebook then. I'm enjoying the Christmas photos.

BentNeckLady · 01/12/2018 23:12

That’s what Facebook is for!

OneToThree · 01/12/2018 23:13

I love seeing my friends trees.

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 01/12/2018 23:13

I like seeing my friends and family excited about Christmas and decorating their houses.

Blilight · 02/12/2018 07:32

I didn't post this to be mean about my friends , its just that I see so many people who are always on it and I know a few that get depressed on social media and I saw something about the lady who's living room was covered in hundreds of gifts and i always think how upsetting it is for people and i wanted to see if I was the only one who felt that way and u was thinking about leaving it.

No need for the ''leave then messages"

I often wonder what people think Facebook is actually for. The whole premise of it is to share photos!
Facebook is not cool anymore. It’s bragging etc. Put a filter on your photo and Instagram it and it’s fine. Hmm

JontyDoggle37 · 02/12/2018 07:54

If you don’t like it, don’t look. I’m not particularly fond of posts on here bitching about other people’s lives, but hey ho. Christmas is a lovely time of year and if people like to celebrate that, fine.

Bluntness100 · 02/12/2018 07:55

But the just leave messages are a fairly obvious response. If you don't like to see it and think of it as bragging then don't look. I'm also not sure what you think Facebook is for if sharing photos is not one of them.

It's just your friends Xmas trees, I mean seriously, what a thing to get wound up about.

MissMarplesKnitting · 02/12/2018 07:56

Surely you are only seeing friends photos? In which case if they are friends, share in their excitement.

It sounds like you need to unfollow or unfriend people if they're getting on your nerves this much.

I've had a crappy Christmas's for a few years. We have put the tree up earlier because I am determined this Christmas will be a good one. True friends understand why.

Lindy2 · 02/12/2018 08:00

Have you considered that perhaps Facebook isn't quite right for you.
One of its main purposes is to share pictures and snippets of news between friends.
No one is making you be on it.

greendale17 · 02/12/2018 08:01

its just that I see so many people who are always on it and I know a few that get depressed on social media

^So people can’t post things that other people may get depressed about? Where do you stop?

Hotpinkangel19 · 02/12/2018 08:04

How odd. Just don't use Facebook. If things like this bother you it's probably best you don't!

NeurotrashWarrior · 02/12/2018 08:08

I use Facebook primarily for very supportive and amazing groups and keeping in touch with various mates. It's useful for local businesses and children's events at museums etc. I do like to see friend's pictures but they don't often brag (if they do I know them well enough to forgive!) plus I get random political and scientific stuff on my feed. I'm going to do a clean up though.

I freely admit I'll add a pic I want to show people. Interestingly I didn't let anyone follow me for ages on instagram as I prefer it being secret.

Between my mates there seems to be more of a competition to write witty / funny / sarcastic stuff on fb now, which I actually quite like.

Fb did make me horrendously unhappy once. I think I've managed to work out the reasons why and over come them. I still like to bitch about this sort of thing though!

We're all ill, we have a baby, ds has a birthday in a few days, Xmas can fuck off till around the 15th.

Might photo my cheese plant in protest as I consider it an achievement I managed to water it yesterday after 6 weeks of forgetting

Bluntness100 · 02/12/2018 08:38

Is there something else going on with you op? Seeing pictures of your friends Xmas trees should make you smile. It's a happy thing, not something to make you react nastily.

Ecofluffynanny · 02/12/2018 08:41

You sound delightful! 🙄

ShowOfHands · 02/12/2018 08:42

Oh I love the pictures of trees popping up. I like my friends. I enjoy the festivities. It isn't bragging at all, it's joy.

piginblankets · 02/12/2018 08:42

I don't understand why people constantly moan about Facebook on here. No one forces you to be on there. I only have a few friends on there and they are actually my friends and family that we don't see much because they live far away. I genuinely love seeing what they are doing and anyone who I find too much or irritating is unfriended or blocked so I don't see their posts. It's not the big deal people keeping making it out to be 🙄

Alienspaceship · 02/12/2018 08:44

I agree that there is a lot of showing off on Facebook. But I disagree that Xmas trees are a competitive sport. I think people are just happy posting their trees?

HRTpatch · 02/12/2018 08:44

Do you have proper friends on FB or hundreds of randoms?
