Ds (16) has had his phone for 4/5 years. An i6. Never asked for an upgrade or anything.he really likes it. But the battery os not holding it's charge. Does getting him a new battery make sense ? Max ? £30 or does it mean the phone is on it's way out ?

Many thsnks from a stupid " dont know anythong about phones mum " flip cant even do paragraphs on this phone !! Sorry

If it still has enough memory, & everything is working ok, then yes, I’d get a new battery Smile

Have you got a local shop who can do it? Much cheaper than apple store I think.

I got my battery replaced in an Iphone 6 a couple of months ago, it's like having a new phone. You can check it in Settings, go to Battery then Battery Health, if Maximum Capacity is less than 80% then it needs changing the Apple Store told me.

Just go into Apple Support and enter the IMEI , a faster way than contacting EE. You can then book a slot if eligible for the replacement programme.
