Should I be taking advantage before I cancel it in a few weeks? What does it do? What is for? I only signed up so I could get something delivered for free. Can I get any free downloads or anything out of it?

Watch Vikings....for Floki.
Watch outlander... that should hook you Grin

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 01/12/2018 17:07

Yes you can get Prime Video and Prime Music. If you have a Kindle you can also have Prime Reading...various free books. I love it.

Prime Video can be downloaded as an app ot is available via smart TVs.

Zoflorabore · 01/12/2018 17:08

I save a fortune with it. Well worth the money.
I ordered 18 items last weekend alone.

God I'm so clueless and partially technophobic. So I can use it like Netflix?

OP posts:
GladAllOver · 01/12/2018 17:10

Yes. But it doesn't have as much to watch as Netflix

SpoonBlender · 01/12/2018 17:12

Yeah, there's a bunch of things.

SpoonBlender · 01/12/2018 17:13

Sickoffamilydrama · 01/12/2018 17:13

There's a few good series in there. I 2nd Outlander, the marvelous Mrs Moxie and the good wife are good as well.

FairfaxAikman · 01/12/2018 17:13

Amazon Prime video is like Netflix. Use it to binge-watch Outlander (makes Game of Thrones look Presbyterian)

madvixen · 01/12/2018 17:14

If you have a kindle you can get free kindle books too

JellieEllie · 01/12/2018 17:15

Use it for prime music and download playlists.
Download the prime app, watch as many free films and box sets as you can. If you have a kindle you can download free books to your device. Order things for next day delivery.
It's really worth it I get so much use out of mine.

EmeraldVillage · 01/12/2018 17:20

Amazon prime video is pretty good although I’d pick Netflix over it (we have both).

Things I’ve watched recently that I enjoyed
Marvellous Mrs Maisel
Lucifer
Parks and recreation
American gods
Preacher

PerspicaciaTick · 01/12/2018 17:52

I got Prime on a free trial and now wouldn't be without it.
If you have a smart TV, you can watch box
Sets and films on your TV as well as your phone/tablet/laptop. Some content is free and some you pay a bit extra for.
You'll also get free next day delivery and some exclusive offers.

Oldraver · 01/12/2018 17:59

Yea we were wondering if we would get a ...you've exceeded you limit..as we have caned Prime delivery Grin

PattiStanger · 01/12/2018 18:06

I use it loads for tv and books, I haven't worked out the music yet. If you download things during the trial can you keep them when it's over?

TheLurkingOne · 01/12/2018 18:11

patti good question; and also do things expire and disappear off the tablet after a while like they do with Netflix downloads?

What I really want is kids stories in audio downloaded to fire tablet so I can keep them entertained on a long trip. Is this a possibility? And films too.

I joined when I was using my phone; is it like Netflix where you have to pay more to use it on a second device?

I love Prime! I’ve got both Netflix and Prime. I love the choice between the two and all the series you can watch, and I couldn’t be without Prime for shopping. It’s saved me many, many times over when I’ve remembered a birthday 24 hours before or yet another mind numbing children’s party the DC have been invited to. I get everything on amazon including my fabric condition in bulk as it often works out cheaper to do subscribe and save on things you buy all the time.

Outlander, Vikings and The Marvellous Mrs Maisel are all well worth watching. Outlander is especially good.

Life0fBrian · 01/12/2018 19:14

For Audio you probably want to subscribe to the kindle service which is separate. I trialled it but didn’t commit, they did audio books. I also have amazon music which again is separate and very good.

SilverySurfer · 01/12/2018 19:16

I really enjoyed watching all of Grey's Anatomy - approx 12 episodes and am currently watching Bones, which I'm enjoying very much.

LookImAHooman · 01/12/2018 19:16

You don’t need an actual Kindle for reading; there’s a Kindle app on iOS and Android as well.

Depending on your area, you could also get Prime Now (delivery within two hours for spends over £20 on a range of products) or free same day delivery on some items, too.

MrsTommyBanks · 01/12/2018 19:18

You can use it on three devices op.

TheLurkingOne · 02/12/2018 17:01

Thanks all.

SoupDragon · 02/12/2018 17:07

You can cancel your trial now and it will run to the end of the trial period. In case you're likely to forget to do it later!

TheLurkingOne · 03/12/2018 22:12

Oh thanks soup good tip

Zofloramummy · 03/12/2018 22:17

I love my Prime and I think it’s reasonbly priced. The kids stuff on there is good too. Just Add Magic was a real fav with my dd (3 series).
