Smart phone for a senior

Thinking of getting my elderly mum a smart phone for use as a mobile generally but occasionally for its smart phone features

Was thinking pay as you go and I'll keep it topped up

Any recommendations on this and what sort of budget am I looking at?

Don't, I have dissuaded my Mum (78) from getting a smart phone as the calls for how it works would be endless. I don't have one either. I have told my brother that if he encourages her, he can deal with all the calls for technical assistance!

My father has a smart phone & It’s no bother, when he has phoned me for assistance I’ve explained I’ll google how to do that - now he Google’s himself
