10.30 pizza express party?

DD2 wants a pizza express party for her 7th birthday but our local one only offers them to start at 10.30. Surely this is too early to be eating pizza? Does this sound weird or ok? DD2 is dead set on the idea.

Weird, sorry!

Skyejuly · 01/12/2018 13:27

I don't think it's too bad

macaronip1e · 01/12/2018 13:28

Any we’ve been to the kids make the pizza themselves first so by the time they are eating it’s more like 11:45/12

Sunisshining5346 · 01/12/2018 13:28

What?! 10.30?! They don't offer any other times?! If that's the case then it's weird! Just order pizzas for at home or go to a different pizza chain

Gizlotsmum · 01/12/2018 13:28

By the time they make them and they are cooked it will be lunchtime surely? So perfect timing!

riksti · 01/12/2018 13:29

My daughter went to one recently and it was 12 o’clock by the time the pizzas were made and ready to eat.

bluefolder · 01/12/2018 13:30

Yes. That's lunch. They make the pizzas and eat about 12

LilMadAgain · 01/12/2018 13:30

... Make them at home? It will be cheaper and you can dictate what time it happens. You could splash out on a huge variety of toppings and maybe make some sweet pizzas too?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 01/12/2018 13:33

They eat at 12ish. We have had one of these parties once and been.to quite a few. Brilliantly organised and well worth the money.

Our children are still v small though so most parents want an early lunch and then rest time in the afternoon. Far better than some of the 4 - 6pm ones we have started to be invited to

ADastardlyThing · 01/12/2018 13:33

Fine, and a great time for a party, always inwardly groan a bit when they are slap bang in the middle of the day.

I've got 4 ovens and even I wouldn't want to spend my kid's party like a short order cook cooking all the dough balls and pizza that is provided for 20 children at one of those parties. Nor do I want to stand at the front providing all the info etc about pizzas/how they are cooked and all the ingredients/what fhey are calked in Italian etc that the pizza express person running the party does

Thanks, sounds like it will be ok then. DD1 had one a few years back but it was straight after school but I suppose it will be getting on for 12 by the time they eat.

At home won't work due to one small oven, one tiny house and a immovable dd2. She hasn't had a birthday party for a few years so she's been promised a 'proper' one.

Sorry I withdraw my "weird" comment! I tjought they were eating at 10.30. Making them first sounds like fun.

Passthecake30 · 02/12/2018 11:01

Dd just had one. The manager said it would be 10.30 -12.30/13, as lots of games in between, but in reality we were rushed through, kids had eaten pudding by 12.15 and parents didn't arrive until much much later.
I'd do it again, but would be more assertive with the waitress who obviously wanted a longger lunch break

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 02/12/2018 11:34

I used to run them for another errr chain.

It's better this way as the place will be completely empty, so relaxing for the kids to be in the kitchen area (we used to do a little tour, put them all in the walk-in fridge and freezer etcGrin

Don't know if they do similar, but that's hard with the lunchtime rush, and dangerous.

So by the time they get there, hang up coats, wash hands and get into it, they will eat at lunch time as others have said.

Hope she has a lovely time.
