I've got some cute Christmas candles from etsy, £3.50 each, personalised with the teacher /TA's name and a different picture on each one. I needed six so I was really pleased to find these!

Just buy a box of biscuits for the staffroom.

We bought little jams and chutneys - three each, wrapped up like a Christmas cracker.

Teacher here...
Please DO NOT feel pressured to buy gifts! They are appreciated but not expected. Heartfelt note in a handmade card is all that's needed.

If your child does want to give something, then make it personal. We have mugs, chocolates, candles, etc in abundance. Useful things like post it notes, pens in the school's designated marking colour, notebooks, etc are always a good bet.

A plant is good.

I would rather not get a present. Sounds nasty but I have so many boxes of Thornton’s I don’t want and body lotions I won’t ever use.

MrsLJ2014 · 01/12/2018 14:21

PepperSteaks Donate them all to the local food bank. That's what I did with the many toiletry sets I would never use.

Rory786 I am a teacher and I have bought my own child's teachers / TAs a notebook each (£1.50 each from the works) As has been said already though, we don't expect gifts!

PepperSteaks · 01/12/2018 14:23

Thank you MrsL I hadn’t thought of that.

Nothing

EmpressJewel · 01/12/2018 17:09

I don't normally buy anything for Xmas, but I think this year,I will buy some cakes and biscuits for the staff room.

EmpressJewel · 01/12/2018 17:11

.....my go to Xmas gift is Xmas socks - I buy them from Tesco's and are 3 for 2 (£5 for 3 pairs).

User700 · 01/12/2018 17:14

I would say a box of biscuits or chocolates for the staff room would be appreciated.
