... and so I'm bringing you an "Advent calendar" with a scene or two each day of what the Playmoland people are getting up to in the run up to Christmas.

Today in Lowbeach-on-Sea, Marta and her son Franz are putting up their Christmas decorations.

Norman and his mates still live in our dining room though, and I will be getting out the Playmo nativity scene soon.

I loved the wedding threads, and shared them at work as we had a (minor) role in the events :) So creative, they are a JOY!

I love your vintage advent calendar, Chippy!

Do you get any assistance from DC?

SoMuchToBits · 15/12/2018 22:25

Glad you liked the wedding threads, Chippy! We had a lot of fun with those. As we are doing with the advent calendar. The 2011 wedding seems a long time ago now.

Don’t think they make them re-useable any more do they? This is the calendar part. It must be at least 10 years old.

Ds is now 18 (can't believe it) so doesn't have much to do with Playmobil, but he did advise me on police for the Royal weddings, and also for marching formation for the infantry/cavalry.

Also he has occasionally shown an interest in the current Playmo catalogue usually after a beer or two.

I'm very late to this but I love it! Well done OP! Breathless with excitement about what tomorrow will bring 😊

MyDcAreMarvel · 15/12/2018 22:40

Love these op, you are really creative.

ChippyMinton · 15/12/2018 22:46

Just caught up. Where does the time go? My eldest is in Y12 now.

i want to go up into the loft and bring down all the Playmo now.
I’m sure DD has a roast turkey/chicken in her Grande Mansion kitchen set - 3rd birthday present, and I can recall every detail!

I am coveting the candles on your Christmas tree - ours only has baubles.

We do have a ghost or two in a Halloween pumpkin, that pops over a skeleton LOL.

SoMuchToBits · 15/12/2018 22:54

Chippy, rather annoyingly, we don't seem to have any roast chickens/turkeys. Clearly a gap in our repertoire...

Today the Waterbury singers are giving a Christmas carol concert. They are conducted by Leilani Harrison, and Rupert Banksbrook is accompanying them on the piano.

I hope they sang O Come All Ye Faithful. It's my favourite!

brizzledrizzle · 16/12/2018 07:29

Wonderful, I assume, being by the sea, that they sang my favourite I saw three ships?

TheChristmasBear · 16/12/2018 07:38

Love this. And love that the PlayMo Royal Wedding is on the TV in the first event pic. Such attention to detail!

fussychica · 16/12/2018 09:47

Thank you so much for this, it's truly wonderful. I can't believe I have only just discovered it. Such attention to detail.

DS, now 26, was a big Playmobil fan though I think DH and I were probably as keen, if not more soGrin. We sold most of it when we moved back from abroad but took photos of it all artfully set up, though not in your league, before they went. His very favourite piece was the dustmen and their lorry which he played with constantly so we couldn't part with that.

I love Playmobil and your amazing work has reactivated that joy. Off to find the wedding threads nowSmile

MinecraftHolmes · 16/12/2018 09:55

We got a roast chicken/turkey in DD’s take along family house last year. Also some sausages 😄

MyDcAreMarvel · 16/12/2018 10:17

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/12/2018 10:36

Oh I love these wonderful set ups Smile.

We gave our playmobil away to a NDN Child.
We only kept the complete Romans and Egyptians.

AviatorShades · 16/12/2018 12:27

Bet they'll sing In the Bleak Mid-winter? Snow certainly seems to have fallen 'snow on snow' from the glimpses of outside..

Mind you, it must be really warm and cosy in the gymnasium. All those bare arms? brrrrrr..

ForalltheSaints · 16/12/2018 12:30

AviatorShades I hope they did not sing In the Bleak Midwinter- depressing in my opinion and of course it would not be so cold in Bethlehem.

SoMuchToBits · 16/12/2018 14:51

Marvel, I could probably have bought a roast chicken from the spare parts service if I had thought about it in time! I bought the cheese for the cheese and wine from there and also the extra frocks for the Waterbury singers...

MyDcAreMarvel · 16/12/2018 14:52

I didn’t know there was a spare parts service that’s ace.

SoMuchToBits · 16/12/2018 15:16

And ChristmasBear I wondered if anyone would spot the Playmo wedding on the tv! Grin
