What is this tiny bug in bedroom?

It doesn’t appear to be the same shape as a bedbug (and it wasn’t on the bed, and we have no bites).

So I don’t think it’s a bedbug.

What is it?!

Hard to say but Google Plaster beetles, they have distinct shape as in your pic. Have you had recent renovations? They are meant to be harmless but imo gross and annoying nonetheless.

Blimey just had a good google and looks like we might have a winner! In just three minutes, amazing.

It’s a rented house. No building work, no apparent mould in the bedroom (or anywhere else), so that’s a bit of a strange one.

Carpet beetle? Or am I imagining that I read about those once? Sorry, not very helpful am I?

Bedbugs are about the same size as apple pips/ladybirds (though the instars are obviously smaller). Keep an eye out when you change the bedding for brown/black inky dots, but that insect isn't cause for concern.
