Sink odour just like rotten eggs, what can I do to treat it?

Noticed a foul smell lile rotten eggs. Any ideas on what I can do to get rid???

We get this every so often and sometimes it’s the washing machine - I think the washing gel clogs up sometimes so I put the machine on a hot rinse maybe with disinfectant or something in it and bleach the sink. You can also get drain cleaners etc but I don’t know if this masks the problem rather than solving it!

A cup of soda crystals and a kettle of hot water might help.

White vinegar poured down and left overnight.

Baking powder and white vinegar in the plug hole, let it fizz. When it stops fizzing pour a kettle full of boiling water down the plug to wash it through. Repeat with more boiling water, should wash the stagnant smell away.
