Hi!

My baby is 11 weeks old - she has had cow and gate comfor milk for colic and constipation from 4 weeks old when I stopped expressing. She is bow also on gaviscon and ranitidine for her colic and reflux. The formula is so hard to get hold of its always sold out everywhere so usually order on boots website but now its sold out there - would it be okay to swap her formula? Any reccomendations? Hipp organic?
Sorry im a first time mum and a worrier 🙈

I would look at the nutritional make up per 100ml on the box and go from there as a lot of the big brands offer a comfort milk alternative. We had a family debate about the difference between aptimel and aptimel profutura as it really wasn't obvious from the box. I contacted aptimel via Facebook messenger and they sent me a breakdown chart of each formula (standard versions) to compare. Whilst they all meet the nutritional standards some of the levels were really shocking so I'm now more than happy to pay the £3 extra for profutura. It's much harder to get hold of so I always stock up when we shop at a bigger supermarket.

I had tochange my DS formula a couple of times when he was small. He had constipation and colic milk for a bit but if anything I found it made things worse! Eventually found HiPP organic formula and he was like a new baby! You can get it in all supermarkets. Prior to this he was so uncomfortable that the doctors suspected cows milk allergy and he'd been trialed on a prescription formula for a while! Give it a go.

When changing the milk you'll need to give it a few days (a week really) minimum before you can say whether it's worked or not as it'll take a while for baby's digestive system to get used to everything. At least that's what the doctors told me!
