To ask what you are buying DH for Christmas?

Looking for inspiration of what to buy my DH who honestly has everything?
He work very long Hours and is often away, when I've asked him for ideas he answers that he just wants to spend more time with DCs and Me for Christmas and nothing more. He is the type of Guy that buys whatever he wants / needs at the time and doesn't have time for a Hobby.

What are you getting your DH / DPs for Christmas? Hoping I can get some inspiration!

My DH says the same.

I don't know about this year, maybe an Apple Watch. Last year I got him a Spotify subscription and wireless speakers. That was a suggestion by a colleague. I has asked him for ideas and we got it down to him liking gadgets and music,

Aebj · 01/12/2018 05:02

Dh has brought himself a camera . He’s going to wrap it up and put it under the tree to make it look like Santa has left something.
I’ve also got him a chocolate Santa , a bottle of wine and a lottery ticket

Flamingoose · 01/12/2018 05:09

Struggling here. The kids are giving him a game, a gadget, and some of his fave chocs. I am slightly wondering about getting him an echo dot Alexa thingy. He doesn't really want one though...
Maybe a photo frame with a really lovely family pic I snapped recently?

Gloves, running underpants, belt and picture of the DC and I professionally done for his desk. I asked for a boat load of elemis products and got him a couple of things from their men's range so I can make him squirm when he hasn't gotten me anything I want.

blackcat86 · 01/12/2018 05:24

We've had the same issue so me and DH are pooling resources and looking at afternoon tea or a spa day so we can spend time together. We had a baby in August so this is much needed to!

HeyMicky · 01/12/2018 05:46

New PJ bottoms, a t-shirt, tickets to a comedy gig, book on noodle making. Chocolate, socks, posh shave cream and hair wax in his stocking.

BarbaraofSevillle · 01/12/2018 05:57

Don't buy things just for the sake of it. If he likes chocs and booze, just get him something like that. Or cheese or other food that he might not always have a nice version of just to himself. I've bought my DF a posh pork pie before.

Can you go for a nice family day out over Christmas? Attraction/walk or whatever plus a meal to spend time together. Beach, fish and chips, amusements, it the weather isn't too awful.

Honestly, lots of people don't want 'stuff' as clutter stresses them out and there's a lot more awareness of the environmental aspect now.

KeysHairbandNotepad · 01/12/2018 06:00

His favourite Molton Brown products and chocolates.

Johnnycomelately1 · 01/12/2018 06:01

He’s sharing a PS4 with the DC. And they’ll get to choose one game each

smeerf · 01/12/2018 06:05

I've got DP a nice wool Pringle of Scotland jumper from TKMaxx, loads of posh pants and socks to replace all his that have holes in, wide fit slippers and a set of very soft pyjamas from M&S. Every couple of years we get him this kind of stuff and call it his comfy kit.

DS is giving him an Echo Input - it's a new model like the Dot but with no speakers built in, you use it with your existing stereo. I would have gone for one of the Google Home models but the Echo is the only one that controls our Bose system.

PeonyTruffle · 01/12/2018 06:09

This!

Such a good deal, he's been harping on about having a 'smart home' for ages so this should shut him up for a bit!

He's also got obligatory toiletry set and some other little bits

Northumberlandlass · 01/12/2018 06:11

Terry Pratchett t-shirt
Lush facial scrub
Letters from History book
Bamboo socks

We have £50 budget.

ViragoKnows · 01/12/2018 06:27

So far; An electronic toothbrush and a thermos flask so I’ll follow your thread for ideas if you don’t mind Smile

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/12/2018 06:31

A soda stream. He loves fizzy drinks and shop bought sparkling water is costing us a fortune. In Boots £40, down from £100. I have bought a few other bits as well, but hope he likes the soda steam as much as I am excited to be giving it. Smile

Wouldyouorshouldyou · 01/12/2018 06:35

A night away with all of you for a meal out, then to the theatre for the panto etc. Or a spa break. You need a family experience rather than a present.

alste · 01/12/2018 06:36

Fred Perry Harrington jacket he's been looking at for ages but won't pay that amount himself.
Fred Perry polo gets one every Xmas.
New wallet.
Set of hot chilli sauces.
Gucci guilty absolute aftershave.

FishesThatFly · 01/12/2018 06:39

Sports massage voucher, reeses chocolates, magazine subscription, session with Personal Trainer,

fussygalore118 · 01/12/2018 06:59

We have the same issue so we tend to buy token gifts , favourite chocs, booze and book a weekend away normally a European city break just the two of us or a fun weekend somewhere with the kids alton towers etc...

GaryBaldbiscuit · 01/12/2018 07:01

I was thinking a dressing gown

Blankiefan · 01/12/2018 07:12

Bose noise cancelling headphones. They are amazing when flying

expatinspain · 01/12/2018 07:25

I've bought him an echo dot from DD and I've bought him some cufflinks from a store he likes and also a flat cap which he choose with me in the Black Friday sales.

Last year I bought him a belt from a shop he likes but I got the size wrong 🤦🏽‍♀️ and some boxers from there too, and DD got him some

socks, as he's really into socks!

Before that, I've bought him trainers, an adidas tracksuit, a coat...he really is fairly easy to buy for as he's into fashion and points lots of things out he likes when we go shopping. He also has preferred shops where he likes most of the stuff, so I'm lucky he's not a nightmare. I'm really fussy and he has a nightmare every year buying for me 😂

Parker231 · 01/12/2018 07:40

We decided a few years ago not to buy for each other as we were buying something for the sake of it. We have a big holiday in January and class that as our present.

RavenLG · 01/12/2018 07:46

Slippers, floor length fleece poncho as he’s coveted mine for a few years, taskmaster book, tickets to a comedy gig

cariadlet · 01/12/2018 07:48

We're so romantic that one year we bought each other half a new bathroom and another year we each bought each other a settee. Grin

We gave up after that! We haven't bought each other Christmas presents for years.

BlueBrush · 01/12/2018 07:57

DH and I usually just get each other a small present e.g one year we'll agree that we'll buy each other a book. This year I think we're going to spend a little bit more, but I'll still just buy one thing and it will probably be some cooking equipment. I honestly didn't realise other people bought so much for their DPs!
