How old is DD, and how did you explain the sponsorship, if you used the word adopted then I can see where some confusion has crept in.

My son was heartbroken after the grand national....his chosen horse won but he was most upset to find out he'd won money and not the actual horse 😂😂

Just be grateful it's only a puppy, try explaining to a very teary 7 year old why Pinky the baby elephant didn't arrive at ours. DS is 28 now and still remembers how upset he was.
