Soo after spending -£300- on a Balsam Hill Christmas tree 🎄 (MrBubbles is not best pleased) I’ve decided we need new decorations! But have no clue Blush

My wallpaper in my lounge is Laura Ashley Lillie truffle like the picture!

What colour would you buy? I’m guessing gold and brown??

What colour Christmas decorations?

Red and Gold, it's the only christmas colours we've ever had and it goes lovely with everything and makes the place feel christmassy and magical. Lovely wallpaper btw Smile.

Every colour of the rainbow! Otherwise I don't think it looks like Christmas Hmm

Every colour you can find. Christmas isn’t the time to be ‘stylish’.

I agree all the colours we don't have a theme and a lot of the decorations are old ones which were a set but only one or two left with multicoloured lights. The newest ones are about four years old, the oldest ones over 20, with some in between.
Do you not have old ones left from previous christmas?

Ooplesandbanoonoos · 01/12/2018 08:25

I think because your paper is neutral you could choose any colour!
Maybe blue and gold? Or purples and metalics?

Dodie66 · 01/12/2018 08:35

Red and gold mainly with a few other colours
I use red and gold baubles and have other decorations I bought over the years which I add

SnuggyBuggy · 01/12/2018 08:37

It's the one time of the year where I stop worrying about what colours go together

BubblesBubblesBubbles · 01/12/2018 08:51

So I shouldn’t bother with new ones? Just the old ones! They are every colour!

I may just buy some new little ones then! And not worry about the colours!

Old decorations are the best

SweetLathyrus · 01/12/2018 09:46

Yep, every colour!

\I have to admit that I tried 'tasteful' and 'co-ordinated' - Burgundy and silver for the dining room (and glass), red and gold for the fireplace end of the living room. The thing that looked best was the other end of the living room Christmas tree with the cheap glittery bauble collected over twenty years, every colour including orange (??yeah, who knew?), pink, purple, red, silver, gold, and the ones DS made at primary school.

Keep the tinsel one colour though - maybe gold?

SweetLathyrus · 01/12/2018 09:47

NOT BLUE (sorry ridiculous personal prejudice!)

TeenTimesTwo · 01/12/2018 09:49

They joy of Christmas decorations for me is seeing the old friends out each year. Buying new would completely spoil it for me.

SweetLathyrus · 01/12/2018 09:51

And buy on the day after Boxing Day for next year. Decos are generally half price, or even better. I put them straight away then get a lovely surprise next year. I also leave the receipt with them so I can see that £100 of decorations cost me £40*. Extra warm glow next December and I know have a huge collection if I do decide to co-ordinate.

(figures for ease of maths, not necessarily what I spend!)
