Google is inconclusive. Never come across this before. Safe to eat yay or nay?

No idea but I wouldn't eat that!

legolimb · 30/11/2018 18:50

Can you slice it off? Looks like mould?

Beetlebum1981 · 30/11/2018 18:51

No idea but it m's possibly better than the caterpillars I found in mine a while back 🤢

Grim. Envy

I'd be left with about two florets if I did that Grin

I've found a lot of caulis and broccoli have black veins going through them, lately or spots on the surface. It can be caused by downy mildew and other fungal infections.

If it's most of the head, I'd bin it.

acatcalledjohn · 30/11/2018 19:10

Yes, tempted to bin it. If it is fungal then in my experience it's best not to eat it.

I think I've eaten like that before and lived but perhaps I shouldn't have!

acatcalledjohn · 30/11/2018 19:27

I'm glad it didn't kill you, @hlob!

I wouldn't eat that and I will eat all sorts of questionable veg. Mould, unless it can be cut off, is a step too far!
