Any teachers on here who are familiar with the alphablocks books?

My DD (first born) started reception in September. On the back of the books it says Phase 2 set 5.

I'm just wondering if this is the standard she should be at already? The books seem really difficult. She's coping well with them but it seems her books are getting harder & harder and the pace of progression seems so fast. This may just be because I've never had a child at school before.

Any information about the phases/stages etc would be much appreciated and very helpful ☺️

Thank you.

Phase 2 Set 5 refers to the phonics phase that she’s on which is about right for this time of year. There are 6 phases overall that are subdivided into sets of sounds (except phase 1 which is usually done in nursery and phase 6 which is usually Y2).
The main focus of this term will be learning this first set of sounds and blending the sounds together to make the word. Blending can be quite tricky for a lot of children so lots of practise is needed until it ‘clicks.’

In short, it sounds fine to me! Of course if you’re worried just have a word with the teacher.
