I'm currently in the process of planning some gap year travel.
My contract at my last job has ended and I haven't had a credit card for about a year. I am now finding that a lot of the hostels and transport companies require a credit card for booking. As I technically have no income now, my bank will not issue me a new credit card.
Has anyone travelled with a debit card - I was hoping to use something like a Starling account as they are good for spending abroad.
I'd appreciate any advice as this is all turning out to be a bit of a stressful situation :(
