There really are no words to describe the failure of the justice system!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/11/2018 13:15

The prisons are full.
There's too many people in jail for none payment of council tax. And Benefit fraud.
Sadly as a terrifying result paedos and their followers and enablers are allowed to waltz around the streets.
And people wonder why there are vigilante groups.

Storm4star · 30/11/2018 14:16

It's true, the prisons are full. I work in this area and I'm seeing more and more cases (not just this type) where people aren't going to jail. Things like serious violence and drug dealing. Judges will have been told that they have to keep the numbers down and sentence to community whenever possible. Our justice system is shit and getting shitter! Because like everything else, it is suffering from a major lack of funding.

Funding cuts are Thanks to your
me and mine or if you prefer us and ours are alright Jack, Tory voters.

We need more money to build more prisons, but sadly the economy is predicted to shrink after brexit, so I guess that's not gonna happen for a while.

Brexit = more paedos on the street.

Storm4star · 30/11/2018 14:30

If you build more prisons you need more staff to work in them. The prison service is already severely short staffed, so much so that prison officer is a dangerous job now. So even less people want to do it. It's all the way along the chain. Not enough police to investigate and make arrests. Lots of Courts have been shut leading to long delays in taking cases through Court. Not enough prison spaces but not enough staff to cope or to even begin to hope to offer any rehabilitation. A large chunk of the probation service privatised so that people on probation or licence are seen for a 5 minute check in. No rehabilitation there either. So of course reoffending rates go up and on it goes.

Well the solution is let the poor sod who can't pay his council Tax and The single mum who was earning an extra £40 PW on the QT to buy her kids a decent pair of shoes out of prison. Then there would be room for the vermin.
