My fucking car started making a noise last night, only one street from home. I thought it was air coming out of the tyre. Because I was so close to home I kept going. The street was empty. I got out & all looked well so I left it until this morning so see in daylight. Under the bonnet I can see something is damaged but I've no idea what it is. I called my local garage but they need me to bring the car in. They don't have a pick-up. I don't think the car's safe to drive so I called my insurance to get me to the garage. Turns out I'm not covered! So anything happening from this point forward I have to bear the cost myself in full. I'm reasonably newish to car ownership & can't believe I've fallen into this hole regarding insurance. Today could end up costing me thousands.. I'm so pissed.

Sending you a hug!

Do you have RAC or AA cover?
And what about a mobile mechanic rather than your local garage?

The RAC was part of my insurance, so they're coming out now but I have to meet all the costs. £100 to come to the house & take me to the garage. I didn't know what else to do this is the first time this has happened to me.

You want to up your breakdown cover. When we first got it, it didn't cover closer than 2miles to your home. I broke down 2.1miles, which was a bit of a wake up call.
