Help me!

I worked from leaving college for 11 years in one establishment until having my first dc who is now 13. I have been self employed since he was 2. I am about to apply for a pt job in our local school.

I've never applied for a job online. Only ever had one professional job interview- and that was in 1998.

Holy moly.

If you go to places like reed.co.uk they have some great interviewing tips on there. Likewise if you Google "competency based interview questions" you'll find a whole host of examples and preparation tips.

If applying for a pt school position I would be inclined to speak to the school directly to ask about the position, what kind of skills they're after and whether or not you can visit during school hours. They welcome this kind of attitude and are quite open.

The job description and list of requirements is pretty good on the website but my only worry is I have no direct relevant experience other than being a Mum! It's a classroom assistant post.

I've filled in my application but really don't know what they do or dont want to read. Does anyone have any tips?

Use the same words that they do in the job description.
