What? They actually got the correct house? Wow! You were lucky!

BinJuice · 29/11/2018 15:44

I am lucky indeed.

I had a “parcel left in secure back porch” recently from Yodel. I don’t have a back porch & they had actually thrown it over my neighbour’s 6ft high gates. It was a very large parcel & they were lucky not to have damaged his car.

BarbaraofSevillle · 29/11/2018 15:50

Your porch is just like ours.

Perhaps they have a force field around them that we don't know about because we're the occupants, but if you were a nasty parcel stealing person you would be repelled away from the securely protected parcels?

VictoriaBun · 29/11/2018 15:51

Had a message saying my parcel was in the shed. ( Shed is in the back garden - locked . Side gate to back garden - locked. Parcel in bin on bin day !

handmademitlove · 29/11/2018 15:52

My 'secure front porch' is a lavender bush that they wedge the parcels under...

Here is an accurate artist’s impression on a package I have been left before.

You mean they didn’t put it in the bin on top of a pile of stinking rubbish ? Wow this is an unexpected improvement in their usual level of ‘service’.

UnleashTheBulsara · 29/11/2018 16:38

Royal Mail prefer my wheelie bins for safe parcel deposits. The fun increases when they forget to leave a card saying where it is. The endless joy!

BinJuice That doormat looks very sturdy and I'm so very positive that it would put off any would-be thief considering having a go at relieving you of onerous parcel recovery.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/11/2018 16:42

Hermes - aaaargh - different country here:
I've had parcels go from 'loaded into the delivery van' to ' nobody home' within minutes.
I've seen the van in my road, was on my way down, and they drove away because 'nobody home' - they did'nt even ring or leave a note.
They are OK with leaving it in safe places - usually neighbours or 'parcel shops' - but not the parcel shop vis a vis, or down the road - oh no, they choose the one three blocks up and leave no note and you only find your parcel by logging into the Hermes site and talking to the hotline.

BathTangle · 29/11/2018 16:44

I'm feeling lucky: Hermes delivered a parcel to me in person at my home address according to the email, while I was at work 10 miles away. Fortunately they had actually left it in my neighbours porch, which is fine so no sure why they needed to lie!

donajimena · 29/11/2018 16:46

Yodel. We watched the van drive down the street. The tracking info said no access to property. I don't live in Buckingham palace Angry of course you can't get hold of anyone to complain!

Oldraver · 29/11/2018 16:48

This week I left a message for'Marco' to leave my parcel in the blue lidded recycling bin.

He walked passed the three bins (grey, blue and black) unlocked the back gate, which unless he was 6ft 10 he would of needed said bins to climb on, and left it in glass recycling box. And yea th message back said it had been left in my non existant rear porch.

I spent bloody ages going through the bin trying to find it and assumed it had been pinched

Toomanycats99 · 29/11/2018 16:51

I live mid terrace. Short open driveway. No bushes etc. I once had a large book people box left on my driveway. To 'disguise' it they also moved the wheely bin from its logical place next to the fence to the middle of the drive in front of it! From no angle did it hide it!

GlitterSnot · 29/11/2018 16:52

I had a massive box delivered... they "hid" it under a small flower pot. I had to laugh. Got inside and they had left me a card explaining where they had left it. Really?! I'd never seen that massive brown box next to my front door nicely decorated with a flower pot! Grin

OddestSock · 29/11/2018 17:32

Mine was signed for by our neighbour in our blue bin...

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 29/11/2018 17:43

I've been known to find mine under the bbq in the back garden

DonkeyPunch88 · 29/11/2018 18:03

Hermes chucked a £300 suit over our side gate and straight into the massive puddle that fills with bin juice and drain water!

What pissed me off most was that I was home that day and the silly cow didn't even knock!
