Does your DP/H/W know your birth date ?

Just that really- been with DP for 3 years & he never remembers when I was born!
He has to fill out lots of forms for travel etc - today he went through 4 different years before I had to tell him. Even a yearly annual membership card has the wrong date on it.

Is he just a lazy bastard?

Yeah sounds lazy
Does this mean he also forgets your birthday?

HurtsLikeABitch · 29/11/2018 15:02

I don’t let him forget it although he hasn’t actually bought me a birthday present- we go out & he buys whatever I show an interest in IYSWIM.
Today when he was filling in some travel info & struggled I said “ you don’t actually remember how old I am do you ?”
Obviously his reply was ‘ you should take it as a compliment I thinking’s you’re younger “ !

Yes my dh knows when my birthday is and yes knows my birth date Confused

I can’t after 3 years yours can’t remember, like how can he not know? It’s been 3 years

MrsPear · 29/11/2018 15:16

Yes but he had to repeat it a lot to immigration when we first married.

dementedpixie · 29/11/2018 15:22

Dh and I are both born in the same year which helps. He knows the date too but it's up on the calendar anyway

TheFirstOHN · 29/11/2018 15:25

I should hope so - it's the same as his.

RetiredNotExpired · 29/11/2018 15:45

Mine does. Now. It must have taken him 15 years to get the hang of it though.

Just don't ask him our anniversary date, not even the year.

In fairness, he doesn't remember his brother's or his best friend's birthdays either.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 29/11/2018 15:47

Date yes but suspect he'd have to think about the year, although I may be wrong (married 17 years!)

He did manage to get my place of birth wrong when he went to register DS's birth though!

RiverTam · 29/11/2018 15:49

yes, just about, but he's pretty rubbish at that kind of thing. I very much doubt he knows when are wedding anniversary is, apart from the month!

Given that he's pretty stellar at just about everything else I don't let it bother me.

RiverTam · 29/11/2018 15:49

and we've been together 17 years.

Crunchymum · 29/11/2018 16:11

We are same year as well so makes it easier but still.... it's pretty crap isn't it?

SoyDora · 29/11/2018 16:11

We were born in the same year so I’d be pretty shocked if he didn’t.

Somerville · 29/11/2018 16:14

Yes of course.

Unless someone has a genuine problem remembering numbers, it’s just laziness. Even then, they should find a mnemonic or rhyme or something to help them learn such basic information about their significant other, and their children too.

MrsTerryPratcett · 29/11/2018 16:16

Yes but he had to repeat it a lot to immigration when we first married.

Me too Grin

He had the actual day down very quickly. I can thank immigration for the year.

Is he thoughtless normally?

Ollivander84 · 29/11/2018 16:23

My dad doesn't even remember my birth date. I'm an only child Confused

ScreamingValenta · 29/11/2018 16:28

Just asked and he does.

greencatbluecat · 29/11/2018 17:03

My DP can never remember DDs' birthdays..... I find that odd. I doubt he knows my birth year.

blackcat86 · 29/11/2018 17:08

DH is pretty usefulness sometimes but still remembers my date of birth. My DF however will swear blind that its the month before (which is my mum's birthday).

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 29/11/2018 17:12

I occasionally get DH’s day of the month mixed up. His birthday is the 15th of one month and our wedding anniversary is the 16th of another. I occasionally get them mixed up.

amusedbush · 29/11/2018 17:14

Yes but he's only 14 days older than me, which probably helps.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 29/11/2018 17:15

DH, on the other hand, frequently forgets our eldest children’s ages.

ApolloandDaphne · 29/11/2018 17:15

Yes he does. It is the day after our wedding anniversary so no excuses!

MiddlingMum · 29/11/2018 17:17

Yes, he knows all sorts of useful things like my date of birth, NI number, etc.

AdoraBell · 29/11/2018 17:23

Mine does. He will forget it when he stressed, but then he forgets his own birth date too.

HildaZelda · 29/11/2018 17:23

Mine does, but he completely forgot about our anniversary this year. First time ever.
