I'm going to The Royal Albert Hall for a music concert tomorrow night..What do I wear? Can I wear jeans or do I need to dress up a bit?

Jeans are fine, what is the concert?

No need to dress up at all.

I found it a bit scruffy inside.

Thank you! It's Jools Holland with his full band, plus Ruby Turner and Marc Almond. I've seen Jools a few times before in smaller venues, but my partner hasn't. He's been to the Albert Hall before but I haven't.
Do you by any chance know of any reasonably priced restaraunt in the area?

Have a look at the ones on Kensington High Street which is maybe 2 or 3 bus stops onwards on the Albert Hall side of the road opposite the park (numbers 9 and 10). Personally I always end up in the upstairs of Whole Foods by High Street Kensington station, a food court so self service and not all that 'ceremonial', but some of the most tempting food all together available in one space that I have found in London! I try to forget it's there but never quite manage. Something to suit most people as well.

There's also a Bill's at High St Kensington station and a Wagamama on the bus route I described. Those three would usually be fine for a walk in. There is a nice tapas place called Casa Brindisia very close to South Kensington station (the other way, down Exhibition Rd from/to the RAH) which would most likely need a booking. To me, Kensington High St feels slightly closer than South Kensington with the option of the 2 or 3 bus stops if you would be pressed for time walking.

I've been to the Albert Hall a fair few times and the only times I wore anything other than jeans is during the summer because it is unbearably hot and for a graduation ceremony.

If I had tickets to Jools Holland I would be wearing jeans, smartish byt flat boots a standard day time top and my fleecy coat. I won't wear my posh coat unless I have a box and know that I have somewhere to put it. There is a coat check but that is too much faff for me.

Also if you need the loo before the show and during the interval the lines are long so try to get out sharpish.

For eats if I am in a hurry I get off the tube at South Ken and pop into Pret. If I want more I go to High Street Ken then walk back. We went to Sticky Fingers last time we were there, I would only rate it as adequate.

I'd eat near South Kensington station. No need to dress up.

I saw Nutcracker there last year. I absolutely loved it! Both the ballet and the building!
