Poor service is something that really gets my goat but good service can male your day (and ensure you go back)

DH was just telling me that when he bought his coffee on the station this morning, soaking wet from his walk to the station, the young man smiled and handed him a tissue to wipe his glasses.

Returning with very elderly parents from hospital stay in a taxi. Parents live in a dark road. Taxi driver turned the cab round so headlights were on the front door and waited until they were in the house. A small gesture but sweet (and I suspect they cut the rate too).

Stayed in a hotel on my birthday (didn't mention it) and they gave me a free dessert that evening Grin

At the l'occitane shop on Regent Street in London.
We went in whilst on a short break simply because they had a cafe and we needed a sit down and a nice loo. Upstairs they have a beautiful display of cosmetics designed in line with Pierre Herme confectionary. I tried a few testers and ended up falling in love with one of the perfumes throughout the day - could still smell it 12 hours later and loved it!

We went back the next day and I couldn't remember which one it was, a lovely lady helped me. While we were talking we explained that it was our first time away from the kids for a weekend so we were just enjoying wandering around and relaxing. She then gave us two lovely macaron because we "deserved it" having three kids under 5! She was quite honestly the nicest person we met in London and made our day!

Took my dd to the hairdresser's,she anxious do likes me to stay and I said the I should have booked myself in.There weren't enough hairdressers but there was a graduate.I was happy for her to cut my hair and she was over the moon that someone was wanting 10" chopping off.It grows ,it is straight and I grow it kind and then have it cut to above shoulder level when it get too heavy to pin up.
So we both left with nicely done hair and it was cheaper than normal.

Customer service lady at Van Hages garden centre offered me a pound of her own money so DS could go on the miniature steam railway - they only take cash and there was no cash point and I only had my card. I managed to copper together enough from change in the bottom of my bag, but she was all set to trot to her locker for some money! Lovely lady!

Vodaphone - I left my phone at work not long after xh and I split and he had dd overnight. I rang asking if there was any way I could get to my texts on a tablet via the Vodaphone site as was really concerned. They credited £15 to my account and told me to go to the supermarket and buy the cheapest phone with the equivalent cash.
