Is it just me or is food getting smaller?

Staying the same price though. Got some chicken slices earlier and they've shrunk in size by about 40%.

Jars of sauces are smaller too.

Don't get me started on chocolate!

maybe will be good thing, to return to 1980s size portions

Doghorsechicken · 28/11/2018 20:58

Yep, instead of increasing prices they make the product smaller! Cheeky buggers!

ernjas · 28/11/2018 20:59

Yes!!!! Got so disappointed with an M&S tuna pate the other day - the tub has been shrunk so much!

SneakyGremlins · 28/11/2018 21:01

Glad it's not just me! Shock

I'm sure Christmas treats have shrunk.

Just looking suspiciously at some stollen...

Oh chocolate is an absolute nightmare. Bars are teeny tiny these days. Mind you since they're all jammed with palm oil anyway . . . . .

SneakyGremlins · 28/11/2018 21:36

I remember when Freddos were 5p.

Box of friggen quality street is half the size and twice the price

hidinginthenightgarden · 28/11/2018 21:38

It is called shrinkflation! They don't want to charge much more so reduce the size instead!

Lokide92 · 28/11/2018 21:39

Yes, have noticed yogurt has shrunk from 500ml to 400ml, the pot has stayed the same size, I noticed it didn't look as full when opening it.
Also far less fruit in Fruit & Fibre, lots of spoonfuls don't have any fruit. I'm going to buy Bran Flakes and add my own dried fruit.

Bloodybridget · 28/11/2018 21:43

Some cereal packets are definitely smaller - granola for example. And prepackaged fish fillets are tiny.

SneakyGremlins · 28/11/2018 21:45

Now you mention it, you're right about fish.

And as for yoghurt - it's the same with custard!

This has been going on for about a year now.

SneakyGremlins · 28/11/2018 21:46

Apples tiny
And don't get me started on peaches, what happened to them, they will be the size of plums soon

HHLimboo · 28/11/2018 22:33

I just bought a 910 ml bottle of juice. Not quite 1L somehow?
Also noticed the smaller fish fillets @bloodybridget!

Careful what you say now, dont want to end up on a psych ward Wink

SneakyGremlins · 28/11/2018 22:37

Did you measure? Grin
