It’s called The Testaments and is set 15 years after the end of the Handmaid’s Tale.

Hm. I'd seafood I wouldn't watch another series but this is tempting.

CruCru · 28/11/2018 17:24

Ah sorry, this is a new novel by Margaret Atwood.

I'm probably in the minority, but I didn't think the first book was marvellous. It was mildly interesting, but I will wait for the sequel to find its way into charity shops before reading it. (I haven't seen the TV serial which I know some have said is better than the book).

Cherries101 · 28/11/2018 17:33

While the books are ok, the reasons behind the HT’s popularity are 100% to do with the TV series and nothing at all to do with Atwood.

TashaYar · 28/11/2018 17:38

Are you joking, Cherries? THT has been highly popular for decades!

doctorbarbie · 28/11/2018 17:38

Well, I loved the book and was very happy when I read about this earlier today.

hendricksy · 28/11/2018 17:38

I can't find the second series on any platforms .. if anyone knows where I can watch it please let me know .

Racecardriver · 28/11/2018 17:42

@Cherries it was really popular in Australia long before the tv series.

ILoveCrunchyAutumnLeaves · 28/11/2018 17:44

Can't wait

CruCru · 28/11/2018 17:49

I thought THT was an A Level text in the UK. I first read it in my teens (but didn’t do A level English).

I studied it for GCSE and Eng lit degree back in the day. It's been a very well known book for years, which has bugger all to do with the tv series.

WitchSharkadder · 28/11/2018 17:55

I can’t wait for the sequel. I love the book and the TV adaptation.

The book has always been very popular, in fact it’s never been out of print in 33 years. I don’t think you can say it’s all down to the series at all.

Tumilnaughts · 28/11/2018 17:55

I text my DH immediately when I read this earlier. I loved this book so much, I just can't wait for this new one. I'm already waiting for it to appear on amazon so I can preorder.
