*Distressing* US man (Watts) who killed his wife and daughters and his toxic family.

Anyone up for discussing this?

Such a horrendous story and all over the news.

What is really eye opening is his parent's public reaction to him murdering his wife and DC, blaming the wife for being abusive and having MH issues. Did they really need to give a public interview trashing a murder victim?

Now further information has emerged about his mother potentially endangering her grand daughter by offering food containing nuts as she didn't seem to believe she had an allergy and the grandparents not turning up for their grand daughters birthday party due to Shannan being angry over the nut incident. This occurred just weeks before Watts murdered them.

He was also shagging another woman while he was wife was pregnant but all who know him insist he was a 'nice man'.

Just sickening.

Do you have a link?

He is disgusting and from what has been reported on his girlfriend I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.

Those poor babies and Shannan.

FeckingEll · 28/11/2018 13:47

Sorry - he was also shagging another woman while his wife was pregnant

Can't understand why her parents didn't want to push for the death penalty but could that have been because they knew he would try to portray himself as a victim of her!

Textbook narcissism learned from his mother so it seems.

I saw that his parents were allowed to speak at his sentencing as they were "victims" (as grandparents of the murdered children) and they used the opportunity to tell their murdering son that they forgave him whilst the other grandparents (who had lost their daughter and grandchildren) had to look on. The apple clearly didn't fall far from the tree Angry

Sorry link attached. It's DM but sure it'll be reported elsewhere if haters want to look.

That article is very very odd

Seems very focussed on lot of family chit chat

Is not clear why they are reporting it

Refers to man's murdered wife isn't clear it him who is suspect

Whole thing is just a hunt for motive and to distract from man murders wife?

FeckingEll · 28/11/2018 14:27

I took as it shedding some light on his parent's reaction to what he'd done.

In cases like this, I suppose it's natural to try to to understand how it could happen.

You've got the parents forgiving their son for killing his wife and children and trying to insinuate she drove him to it. The backstory sheds some light on their way of thinking.

That poor woman should never have gone home with her kids.

wow thats all moved very quick from when it happened

Can't understand why her parents didn't want to push for the death penalty but could that have been because they knew he would try to portray himself as a victim of her!

As I understand it, he took a plea bargain to admit what happened rather than have a court hearing with the possibility of the death penalty. Before this plea deal, he was saying his wife strangled their daughters and he then killed his wife because he was so angry with her. Perhaps her parents wanted the reassurance of knowing he would be in prison for life (and he will be) and not have everything dragged through a public court with the risk of either a not guilty verdict or no death sentence.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 28/11/2018 16:48

He killed his kids too???

I did not even know that from the article. That's wrong, isn't it?

Is this the guy who hid them in an oil tank or somethinkg?

SylviaAndSidney · 28/11/2018 16:52

It’s awful reading his replies to his wife, clearly lying and acting when he was talking about his love for his children. So sad too to read his wife telling him he didn’t care about her pregnancy, a week before he killed them and the unborn baby.

Hope he has a miserable time of it in prison.

SpottingTheZebras · 28/11/2018 17:22

@NothingOnTellyAgain yes, he killed his two daughters (3 and 4) and contacted a colleague to advise him he would be at the workplace oil field later on, which is where their bodies were found, whilst he was supervising his daughters at a pool party. His wife was pregnant and a man has come forward saying he had an affair with the husband for many months, which included the time his wife became pregnant.

Clutterbugsmum · 28/11/2018 18:04

I watched an interview with his mother on You Tube (cant remember which news channel) and she basically blame his wife for everything. She made him out to be an angle.

As I understand the reason for not going for the death penalty is that his wife family and friends would be dragged back to court and having to relive the events for next 15 plus years.

dontalltalkatonce · 28/11/2018 18:10

He had been shagging a man, too.
