Does anyone have a professional well paid job and a side income...

In the title really.

Does anyone work in a corporate/Head Office environment in a skilled profession, well paid and have a side line of income?

I want to look into a second job (maybe evenings/weekends) but most things I am looking at need you from later afternoon and I just wouldn't be home from work? Evenings would be preferable to weekends as I do want some downtime.

Something I could do from home would be amazing but I just don't know where to start?

Have floated the idea with friends and they just don't get why I need to supplement my income, and I don't NEED to, we get by comfortably, I just want a little extra money (thinking £250 to £400 a month).

Yep, full-time professional with a lucrative sideline in writing. What are your skills?

LaDaronne · 28/11/2018 11:53

though that said my full time job is massively flexible, not sure I could manage if I worked in an office environment all week.

fartfacemcfartfaceface · 28/11/2018 12:11

Watching with interest though, I could do with some extra cash too.

FreckledLeopard · 28/11/2018 12:12

I work full time as a solicitor and have side incomes from holiday cottage let and also matched betting.

Needallthesleep · 28/11/2018 12:24

Yes. I work in a large blue chip, paid well, but am also a personal trainer on the side.

MakeAHouseAHome · 28/11/2018 12:36

I want to try and get my head around matched betting, but don't you need to put down quite a large outlay for it to be worth it?

I was more thinking evening telesales or some sort of freelance occassional agency work?

Have you got a spare room you could Airbnb? Good money for little effort!

Stinkbomb · 28/11/2018 12:39

Yes I do but it is related to my profession and something that I can do freelance in my own time.

SassitudeandSparkle · 28/11/2018 12:44

I used to work full time and teach fitness classes in the evening.

Telesales - are there any big call centres near you? Not just insurance-type places, there is a big wine warehouse near here that has telesales, evening job in a supermarket, that kind of thing?

Exam marking? If you have a qualification that would enable that. If you do contact your "institute" and ask if they have any marking opportunities. They all work differently of course but a lot of marking is computer based now although some standardization meetings are face to face.

Or take in a lodger. This option can be tax free if it falls under the rent a room allowance.

retail arbitrage?

FruityWidow · 12/01/2020 18:27

I work full time for a company and freelance on a per job basis similar to my employed role.

@LaDaronne what kind of writing, if you don't mind me asking? I write as part of my job but not to the extent that I have could be a freelancer. But I am good at it, enjoy it, and would love to make a bit of extra cash from it. Plus my job is flexible enough that I would be able to fit it around it. I've been looking at copify and Fiverr but don't think the rates they pay make it worthwhile.

Sinittasdancers · 12/01/2020 18:51

I mean i couldn't freelance because I don't have a black book of contacts, not that I'm not good enough because I think I am

ballyballerson · 21/04/2020 10:50

I have recently started buying items to resell.

Mainly limited edition items which tend to go up in value, I use Ebay mainly but its proving to be a decent side income! This week has been an especially good week, who knew people are willing to pay £1000 for hot tubs!

Year6teacher754 · 21/04/2020 11:23

@MakeAHouseAHome

I don't but my husband has a professional job with a six figure salary and also has a side income as well. The side income started from just being a hobby that he had. Happy to provide more details if anyone would like.

Is matched betting a bust for now or is there still something that you can bet on?
