Child tax credits paper work

I'm drowning in pieces of paper in life and need to sort it out.

How much ctc stuff do I need to keep?
Have so so many letters going back 6 years... each 8 pages long filled with their totally random figures
...

Can I burn the lot and just keep the most recent? Or is that likely to come back and bite me in the bum some day....

I'm a bit of a technophobe so I tend to be more paper than online but I've had enough.

I know for the sake of self employment or business they recommend 7 years....

With tax credits I would file anything with decisions. The long winded letter telling you to renew I would shred. They can go back years and reverse decisions.

Rubbish. But have roughly don't them by year and filed away...
