Dobble, not a board game as such but great fun

Snakes and ladders!

SleepWarrior · 27/11/2018 21:11

Busytown eye found it, based on the Richard Scary books. It's such a lovely game, and collaborative so doesn't get too competitive if playing with more than one child!

Guess who and labyrinth were favourites of my DD when she was around 4

quencher · 27/11/2018 21:16

Snakes and ladders
The Penguin game from marks and Spencer's . (It's like ludo)

Shopping list, Tummy Ache

Orchard games - Rocket game is dd's current favourite but loads of good ones. Bus stop is good too.

Disney eye found it is also good if she can sit and play for 20-30 mins

My 4yo enjoys junior monopoly, frustration, guess who, snakes and ladders. He also likes playing card games like memory and snap.

Summerisdone · 27/11/2018 21:29

My 4 yo loves Snakes and Ladders and Frustration. I've also just got him Connect 4, Guess Who and Draughts for Christmas.

He also loves playing snap, pairs and fish with a pack of cards.

SmithyDarlingLetsDoShots · 27/11/2018 21:30

The tooth fairy game is good.

bluebird3 · 27/11/2018 21:31

Candy Land by Hasbro is great for that age

hidinginthenightgarden · 27/11/2018 21:35

twister!

FortyFacedFuckers · 27/11/2018 21:37

My ds absolutely loved frustration at that age

Rainshowers · 27/11/2018 21:38

My DD loves playing games at the moment. For her 4th birthday she got Snakes and Ladders, Frustration and Guess Who, all of which have been well played. We also recently got Dobble which is great for us to play together, and Junior Monopoly.

I’m thinking of Junior Cluedo for Christmas, and Twister, but she keeps asking for mouse trap!

dingdang · 27/11/2018 21:51

Excellent thanks for suggestions!

Bug bingo is great and there's a whole series of them, bird bingo, mammal bingo etc. Great fun.

Muddlingalongalone · 27/11/2018 23:01

@rainshowers - don't get mousetrap, unless you can get a vintage one. Cheap plastic that's a pita to set up - the gameplay is not worth the pain of setting it up....

Rainshowers · 28/11/2018 17:31

Thanks muddling that was my fear about it. I remember having it at least 20 years ago and it being a pain to put up so I’m trying to steer her away from it!

Sewrainbow · 28/11/2018 17:35

Dotty dinosaurs- very good for learning shapes colours and how chance happens with the roll of the dice. You can't cheat like you can with some games and I found it short enough to keep us both amused

ThePoliticiansPraiseMyName · 29/11/2018 15:03

Junior cluedo is great, we got that last year and my then 3yo and 5yo both loved it. They also like dominoes and have a pack of jolly postman playing cards which you can play loads of different games with :-)
