Having friends and family round for dinner

Bit of a strange one but wanted your opinion. If you’ve got a pre-existing plan with say MIL to come round, but then double book and invite 2 friends for dinner too, would you tell the other parties? I know it’s probably not a big deal but what’s politically correct? If such thing?

Do you mean tell your friends and MIL that it won't be just them, that the other/s are invited too? Yeah, I'd probably mention it.
