Lumie clock

I'm thinking of getting one of these to help with the dark mornings. There are lots of options though and I'm not sure what's the best.

Does anyone have one of these? Is the starter version good or is it worth getting the luxe version? I don't want to get the cheaper version if it turns out to be a false economy.

Your advice gratefully received!

I've got the basic one and I've had it about 8 years. I use it every winter as I have a very early start in the morning and it really really helps. The mornings I forget to set it are much harder.

They don't do the model I have anymore, but I bought the next one up from the most basic. I use the sunset function as well as the sunrise. It has wake up sounds, but I don't usually bother with these. I really like it and find I wake up more less abruptly :)

The new ones with more colours look really good. Now I'm tempted to upgrade...

That sounds great. I might look at the one with more colours but just want something to get me through the dark winter months so sounds like the basic one would do the job anyway. Thanks.

I've had one for a couple of years now. It hasn't magically transformed me into a morning person, but it's a much gentler waking than with a traditional alarm. I have beach waves or birdsong wake me up which is quite soothing.

I sometimes use the sunset function too, it really does make me sleepy.

Buying one for DD13 for Xmas.

I have the cheapest basic one from amazon - I think its around 30 pounds. I love it! It helps me so much, I have it set to come on a little bit before my alarm and i've definitely already semi-woken up from the light, its fantastic in the winter. In the summer - not so much unless you have blackout blinds, but I feel its worth it for the winter.

That sounds great. I love the idea of wave sounds- does the basic version have that as well?

Since I've been a lone parent I've made sure I have a present to open under the tree so this is going to be the one I think.

I bought one recently. It doesn't always wake me up but the mornings it does are lovely. Not sure it gets me out of bed any sooner (as I just lie there dozing) but I think I"m more awake when I do, eventually, get up.

I just got the basic model. The only thing that I don't like is that I have to turn it on every evening. Sometimes I forget.

EmmaStone · 27/11/2018 11:40

I think I've got this one OP, a bit more expensive though.

There's a comparison chart on the Lumie website so you can see which features they come with. I think all have the basic sounds. And that's a lovely idea to make sure you have a proper Christmas present too :)

If you have a dunelm mill store near ypu just have a little check before you buy online. They were selling lumie clocks at the one near me for £13 a couple of months ago. Its a long shot but a big saving. Im not sure which one it was. I bought one but i dont think it has colours. It has a sunrise and sunset feature though.
