Do they look silly with no mouths?

Just that.
I thought I liked it when they have just the eyes, now I'm doubting myself, it if I add the mouths and they look wrong, I cant undo it.
It was a fiddle to make, so I don't want to ruin it by not knowing when to stop.

No Smile they don't need mouths

JustWhatINeededNow · 26/11/2018 15:27

Is it a gift or for you?

TeaByTheSeaside · 26/11/2018 15:27

No they look fine without the mouths. You seem to have expressions in the eyes so I can see the rest of the "face" without it being there iyswim. They look great!

KnittingSister · 26/11/2018 15:30

They're cute! Can you show something next to them for scale?

NorthEndGal · 26/11/2018 15:31

@JustWhatINeededNow this one will be for me, to see how it works, and if I could do it
I may add them to my stock for my shop if I can find a better (less time consuming) way to do it. As it is, I had to sit there for hours holding pieces in place, which is not something I plan on doing more of!

Although l suppose that's a tealight Blush

NorthEndGal · 26/11/2018 15:34

@KnittingSister yes it is a tea light, but the angle makes it look bigger
Sorry this one is dark, but for scale it should work

Nesssie · 26/11/2018 15:38

Erm, what is it?

snarferson · 26/11/2018 15:38

They are sweet! I like them as they are Smile

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/11/2018 15:41

They'd look cuter with mouths but They don't look silly without them

NorthEndGal · 26/11/2018 15:42

@FaceLikeAPairOfTits they are just little rock people, watching the fire.
@KnittingSister and @TeaByTheSeaside thank you! I just my hands were not so shakey, I made a mess with the glueBlush

Justmuddlingalong · 26/11/2018 15:42

Does the tealight just sit on the pebble, because if so, it looks like a complete fire hazard?

NorthEndGal · 26/11/2018 15:45

It does just sit, as the rock is flat and stable, and it wont be near kids or that.
If I were to make them for sale, I'd have to add a wee holder, glued down
As I am only using this myself , I'll just be cautious

Reminds me of Marianne Dreams www.amazon.co.uk/Marianne-Dreams-Faber-Childrens-Classics/dp/0571231454?tag=mumsnetforum-21 bloody scary children's book that still scares the bejesus out of me when I think of it.

Lweji · 26/11/2018 16:02

Rocks don't need to eat or speak. Wink

ChocolateTearDrops · 26/11/2018 16:04

Oops that sounded a bit like I was dissing it! Didn't mean to! Blush

user187656748 · 26/11/2018 16:05

Completely Marianne Dreams and will freak out those of us of a certain age. I made DS1 read it and he wouldn't finish it.

Trumpton · 26/11/2018 16:06

Would a glue gun hold them faster ?
I do like them ,they are like standing stones round a camp fire 🔥

BestestBrownies · 26/11/2018 16:09

Instead of the tea light, you could get a little basket with some straw and a 'baby' rock with googly eyes. Hey presto! 'Rockin' Nativity'.

Coming to a FB selling page near you just in time to get your Christmas order in.

ShePoopsAConker · 26/11/2018 16:09

Awww I love them! Better without mouths.

Could you just drill small holes in the base of each pebble and in the base, and use a metal rod / section of thick wire to hold them together? Apart from taking to long, with glue they could fall off and that could upset / unbalance the candle.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 26/11/2018 16:10

That's lovely! How much would you charge?

NorthEndGal · 26/11/2018 16:10

Haha, no worries @ChocolateTeardrop , I knew what you meant!
Now I will have to read this book, I'd never heard of it before
