House of Fraser- is it safe to make online orders again??

Wondering if it is worth placing an online order with HOF?

Reading endlessly about their recent problems and lots of online orders being cancelled, customers not being refunded even months later.

I had a look at some of their reductions and there are things that I would like to buy as Christmas presents- only thing is I would be purchasing online and the recent events have put me off big time!

Any recent experiences with them online?

I ordered no problems collected in store with a £5 voucher to spend. I'm not sure about refunds though grey area.

The issues were due to them going into Administration and Mike Ashley not being under legal obligation to fulfill more-admin orders (also, their third party logistics provider downing tools for a couple of weeks until Ashley signed a deal with them, meaning orders couldn’t be fulfilled/cancelled)

Personally, I wouldn’t shop there but that’s because I hate Mike Ashley/Sports Direct with a passion...

But it’s as safe as any other high st retailer to order from now.

One thing to be aware of..if there is an issue with your order, it will take a while to resolve as their customer service team is still working through a big backlog...

Fulfill. FFS.

I won't order from them because their order fulfilment and returns process is shockingly bad. I got stuck with an expensive pair of shoes that were the wrong size because of this.

Never again.

I ordered from them about 2 weeks ago, it was a dress I loved and was reduced by around £100, I looked everywhere else for it in my size but HOF was the only place that had it. Delivery was £4.99 even for instore collection, but you do receive a £5 voucher to use in store, so I did it this way. When I got the dress home it was so dirty, it was covered in make up. I had to pay to return the dress which was around £4.50 (Signed for 1st Class), they have refunded me the full amount for the dress and the delivery cost because it was faulty. I have still paid £4.50 to return it though, I wouldn't order from them again.

Thanks for the replies

Gosh you all seem to have had problems with your orders

Went on the website earlier- it's now 5 quid for delivery!

It used to be free delivery over 50 pounds or something

Plus you can't return to stores if you've ordered online?

All sounds like a massive pain, definitely thinking twice about ordering online!

Yep, I couldn't return the shoes in-store and that was a big part of my problem as for an online return you have to have an e-receipt. I did not get one via email (although I had my order confirmation email or knew the order number) so I had no way to send the goods back.

This is obviously a known problem as there is a webpage you can go to get a replacement e-receipt. I filled this out three times, twice for an email replacement and once for a posted one but did not receive anything.

Tried emailing and calling but just got told can't do anything without the e-receipt and advised to fill out the online form again.

Massive waste of time and money - really frustrating!

Shoes still sitting in their box unused.

It sounds like a total pain ordering online with them now!

Used to order from them quite a lot, v efficient home delivery, free of charge if over a certain amount

Sounds like I should stay clear of HOF online- the sales stuff on the website is quite tempting though!

It's a shame, as with a small baby, online shopping is my saviour Grin

Wouldn't give mike Ashley a penny if I was a millionaire

TurquoiseDress · 26/11/2018 23:06

I think I'll steer clear now.

What an absolute shame, HOF was great up until recently.

Cannot be arsed with getting into drama about goods not being sent or refunds withheld!

Use PayPal, they're good at getting your money back. Now I'm worried as I've ordered some stuff from them (but used PayPal credit so will definitely get the money back if it comes to it.)
