I had a crap time finding a decent mini pill... settled on micronor (norethisterine based one) and all was well until it was discontinued. Now on noriday but i fear this will also soon be discontinued...

Was a very postiive experience for me.

I had started getting bad headaches on the combined so moved to the mini pill (cerazette). I don't have any bad side effects just no periods.

kittenfun · 26/11/2018 12:31

Have been given cerelle

Redhound · 26/11/2018 12:34

Cerazette has been brilliant for me since I changed over

Spam88 · 26/11/2018 12:37

I was fine changing over from microgynon to cerazette. Didn't have periods on cerazette and my boobs shrunk a cup size.

kittenfun · 26/11/2018 12:51

Cerelle is the mini pill I have

kittenfun · 26/11/2018 12:52

Hope mine don't Shrink !!
I am a A.A. cup

I was an A and went to an AA. Have you tried the Boob or Bust method though? Gives you a smaller band and bigger cup size - I wear a 30D/DD now which is much are much easier to get hold of (and don't normally have pictures of spongebob on 👌).

Cerelle is the same as cerazette btw, it's just cheaper so I think most areas have switched people over to cerelle.

Malibucyprus · 26/11/2018 14:23

I changed from Microgynon to Cerazette 7 months ago, my periods have stopped altogether, but for the first 4 months I had horrendous boob pain, and armpit lumps around the time my period was due. All settled down now though.

Drogosnextwife · 26/11/2018 14:26

I am on cerazette, I get terrible sore boobs when my period should be due but very rarely get a period.

Buttercupsandaisies · 26/11/2018 14:29

It's awful if you have thin or thinning hair! Combined pill contains oestrogen and this counteracts the testosterone naturally produced pn the scalp. With mini pill the testosterone and progesterone have a double negative affect in susceptible individuals. My dermatologist said its one of the worst things for people to take if they have thinning hair or a predisposition to it

dogzdinner · 26/11/2018 14:40

I didn't know that about the hair! I have thinning hair but didn't realise the pill could be making it worse

Drogosnextwife · 26/11/2018 14:40

Buttercupsandaisies

Really? I thi k you may have just solved my problem! May have to change my pill now.

Drogosnextwife · 26/11/2018 14:42

Does anyone know the reasons for using the mini pill if you suffer from migraines? I was advised when younger to use it because of migraines but don't tend to get them anymore so perhaps I could change back?

Spam88 · 26/11/2018 16:30

@Drogosnextwife The combined pill is contraindicated in people who get migraines with aura because it increases stroke risk.

macnab · 26/11/2018 17:20

Moved to cerazette a few years ago after a few months of very heavy periods on the combined pill. Doc said it was because of my age Hmm Am mid 40s and have had no problems at all, not one period since I started on it - I intend to stay on this until I can move to HRT Grin

Drogosnextwife · 26/11/2018 18:31

Thanks Spam88

kittenfun · 26/11/2018 18:45

Thanks ladies

I have thick hair

kittenfun · 27/11/2018 20:26

Well I started the mini pill today

DerfelCadarn · 27/11/2018 20:29

I went from combined to mini pill in my 20s due to migraines.

I had a very spotty chin for a couple of weeks and gained a couple of pounds (nothing major).

I don't have full periods on mini pill, just occasional light spotting which might go on for a couple of days in a row, at random intervals.

I'm now on cerelle and don't have any side effects that I know of
