Tesco Xmas delivery slots

These get released tomorrow so I'm assuming that means midnight tonight. Is that correct? If so I'll be staying up to get one I guess. Anyone else?

I was too tired to stay awake until midnight so put 4 bottles of Baileys in my basket ready to check out when I woke up. Luckily I woke at 6:20 as most slots had gone but I got one. 2 years ago I was very pregnant and up several times a night needing to pee. About the only benefit was that I got to book a tesco Christmas slot when they had just been released!

Tartpop · 26/11/2018 07:38

I stayed up til midnight for mine and now I am tired. But all the slots are currently still available. Maybe people in Cornwall don't mind going to a busy supermarket at Christmas.

Pascha · 26/11/2018 07:44

I booked mine a minute ago for 23rd 9-10am. All the slots are still available. I guess no-one cares that much here either.

Pascha · 26/11/2018 07:46

I wonder if the availability of slots has.mich to do with where there food comes from? Mine changed a year or two ago from local supermarket floor to a large distribution warehouse so maybe there are just more slots because there is more stock?

MsSquiz · 26/11/2018 07:55

Just a reminder to those who just have drink sitting in their baskets - wasn't there some orders like that that were cancelled last year?

Mine is mainly drink, but I've added in bread, milk, butter and a few other bits to balance it out

SleepySofa · 26/11/2018 08:05

Mine is booze plus food but it allowed me to book on 23rd with an 8am slot... but a PP said she could only get 10am because of Sunday licensing?!

Ginkythefangedhellpigofdoom · 26/11/2018 11:36

Yes mssquiz I remember that too.

I just add the previous weeks order, they can't delete it if it looks like real shopping.

It'll stay like that until I can be arsed a week or two before I need it.
I buy the Christmas food but also a weeks lunches and meals for us and the guests staying so Iv started saving a list from the year before so it reminds me which meals we had the year before and enjoyed but it reminds me if anything wasn't popular (looking at you stollen)

HellenaHandbasket · 26/11/2018 19:15

The Tesco website says the dates aren't released until next week? 🤔

LookImAHooman · 26/11/2018 19:37

Hellena that’s if you don’t have a delivery subscription.

MrsJBaptiste · 26/11/2018 19:51

I'm genuinely shocked that this is such a thing! I never knew you had to book delivery slots like this 😮 I would probably go online the week before Christmas and expect to book a slot as normal 😆

SleepySofa · 26/11/2018 20:38

It’s got worse over the last couple of years. Last year I was taken unawares about the slots being available early to delivery saver subscribers and only managed to get a 10am-2pm slot on 23rd, when they were released to the general public. And two years before that. I’d thought it would be safe to book my slot at 5am when DS woke me up! Now I know you need to be refreshing at midnight even with a delivery saver subscription or you’ve little chance of getting a morning slot in 23rd, in my area at least! I’ll go out afterwards to get the things they’ve missed off, and do M&S and Waitrose that morning, then on 24th I’ll nip out early for anything I didn’t manage to get the day before. It’s like a military operation! If I was as organised at work as I am in my Xmas prep, I’d be a director by now.

Veronicat · 26/11/2018 20:43

@SleepySofa Theres a 10am licencing law here in Scotland.

Veronicat · 26/11/2018 20:44

Supermarkets and off licences can only sell drink from 10am to 10pm.

SleepySofa · 26/11/2018 20:45

Ah! I'm in England, that explains it. Thanks.

Tiredandemosh · 26/11/2018 20:47

I’ve just realised though that now I’ve booked my Xmas slot for the 22nd I can’t have another delivery between now and then! What about my weekly shop! Sobs!

BiteyShark · 26/11/2018 20:52

Tiredandemosh I booked three orders between now and the 23rd. Just go to the main menu and select book a slot. To see all your orders you go to my orders.

Musicalstatues · 26/11/2018 21:36

You can book as many orders as you like! I have 5 scheduled at present!

Tiredandemosh · 26/11/2018 21:37

Wah!! How? Can you do this on the app too?

driggle · 26/11/2018 21:39

@Tiredandemosh on the app click the menu button and select Book a Slot.

Tiredandemosh · 26/11/2018 21:46

Omg, I am shook 😂😂😂 I had to resort to doing an online shop with asda earlier! Thanks so much!

Walks away feeling like a right numpty....
