I had a microwave malfunction on grill setting yesterday and the food caught fire. The microwave is in the utility room and no smoke alarms went off (bungalow with 7 alarms, 3 are wired in!!) I found it by accident when I went into the kitchen and the smoke was thick and acrid. So after much panic (I couldn't breath) in getting the back door open and the burning food out to the garden the whole house now smells of smoke.
I have all the windows open, patio & back door too. Yankee oil burner in the utility room and one in the hall but still the smell is horrible. Any tips on removing the burnt smoke smell?
