Anyone else always cold?

I'm beginning to think my temperature setting is faulty as just realised I'm in fleecy pj bottoms, long sleeved thermal vest, sweatshirt and a coat while dh is in a T-shirt! I'm a bit of a standing joke at work for always having a jacket on when no one else has. I'd actually love to emigrate somewhere hot☀️

Me. I'm always cold. The heating has been on for ages here. I'm already in my winter duck down coat at work. I've always got my layers on than everyone else I know. I hate winter. Roll on summer

Chesneyhawkes1 · 24/11/2018 21:36

More layers!

Rubyslippers7780 · 24/11/2018 21:37

Heated clothing. Battery pack and switch in pocket. No more heater wars at work...

May I suggest getting your thyroid checked, OP? Permanently feeling cold is a classic sign of hypothyroidism.

DBN1 · 24/11/2018 22:04

Are you very slim OP? If you don't have much body fat it can make you feel the cold more.
I feel extremes of temperature more than anyone else that I know - when it's warm, I'm sweltering and when it's chilly, I'm freezing. I think my thermostat is buggered Grin

PersonaNonGarter · 24/11/2018 22:06

Poor circulation?

I am always cold. But I live in a draughty house in Scotland, so that’s got something to do with it.

autumnleaf1 · 24/11/2018 22:14

Me, I'm always sitting in a coat when others have just a long sleeved top or even a t-shirt on. I also think about temperature more than other people. When watching that film, Frozen, I'm preoccupied by how cold everyone must be!

LittleCandle · 24/11/2018 22:19

I have no thyroid, so I am always cold apart from the bastard hot flushes. It is a nightmare. Heat reflecting clothes don't reflect heat back as I barely generate any. I wear tons of layers, but am still cold. As a pp said, get your thyroid checked.

thenightsky · 24/11/2018 22:21

thyroid. get it checked.

Mine is shite, and GP won't treat till I'm on my knees apparently, but what can I do?

ketteringtownfc · 24/11/2018 22:23

Me! I have Raynaud's. It's bloody horrible. Investing in good layers and a good coat has been the only thing keeping me warm!

RoseMartha · 24/11/2018 22:23

I get cold easily usually have more layers on than everyone else.

confusednorthner · 24/11/2018 22:29

I'm glad it's not just me. Unfortunately I am not naturally skinny so not that. I've found fleece lined work trousers on internet I may need to try but those heated jackets don't look smart enough for work unfortunately.
I've considered thyroid issues but don't think I have any other symptoms.
I'm just so fed up being so cold every evening I need a hot bath and having to wear so many layers all the time.

Me! Spent a bit of money yesterday on more thermals and merino wool socks. I've got chilblains on toes.
@ketteringtownfc any good tips on dealing with Reynaulds?

picklemepopcorn · 24/11/2018 22:37

Hot drinks and movement? Getting up and trotting to the loo/drinks machine as fast as you can manage makes a huge difference.

And warm shoes. People don't realise that thick soles are so much warmer than thin ones on most shoes.

And a scarf- not a woolly one, just a chiffon type loosely wrapped and tucked into your collar. Really helps!

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 24/11/2018 22:38

Me! I love my fleece-lined leggings for wearing indoors over thick tights and loads of layers (and a blanket on the sofa). Is your blood pressure okay? Mine is low and I've always blamed that for being freezing all the time.

My nose/lips/fingers go blue/purple in the cold - not a great look.
