Best place for make up?

I'm getting married next month and really don't want a make up artist. Am thinking of going to one of the department stores, getting the make up done (with instructions!) and buying the stuff to do it myself. Does anyone know where's best for this? I have MAC, Charlotte Tilsbury, Benefit, Bare Minerals etc.
If it helps, I wear very minimal make up, definitely don't want somewhere that's going to cake it on!

I wouldn't recommend doing your own make up on your wedding day if you don't wear it. You won't have the skills to apply it correctly - one quick lesson in a department store is not enough. Find a make up artist and explain what you want. If you really are determined to do it yourself I would recommend Bobbi Brown.

I did this with Clinique for my wedding as I like a natural look and have sensitive skin. I bought everything she recommended, put it on exactly as she said and then had great make up for the whole year - bonus

Oh but I did go in and ask her the quietest time to go in to see her
