Is anyone else doing their Christmas pudding tomorrow ( starting it tonight)? I know it’s easy to buy a pudding but I like making my own, it’s easy to make and tastes good. It also kicks off the planning and prepping for Christmas here.

Your house will smell lovely tomorrow Grin

Yup making mine tomorrow. Just need to do an emergency suet run cos I don't have quite enough. Bah

I currently (geddit?) have three kilos of fruit soaking in Madeira. Tomorrow it will become four Christmas cakes of yumminess ( I hope) . I'm not feeling Festive at all at the moment. Hopefully after cakefest and the lovely darkness to light advent service, where they have dramatic Victorian carols, winter, if not Christmas, will have arrived.

What are people soaking their fruit in? And what fruit are we using?

Tilly oooh, I'd forgotten about the special smell. 😊

I am, I'm a bit late with my Christmas cake though I've got the fruit soaking tonight. I've usually made it late October!

MaidenMotherCrone · 24/11/2018 18:51

It is done and sitting under it’s tea towel blanket until tomorrow. It already smells so lovely with the spices and zests. I’m going to sit down later and start my planning list.

My fruit is soaking for tomorrow. I can't make my Christmas pudding on any other day of the year. Has to be on Stir Up Sunday!
